Between our wedding and honeymoon I am taking two weeks off. Thankfully my boss is very understanding.

Don’t hate me, but I’m taking five weeks off. A week before the wedding and four weeks for the honeymoon. We’ll be away for the whole honeymoon period (back on the Friday, working on the Monday). I am so glad for European leave allowances!

If I’m still at my current job I’ll probably be able to take off 2 days before the wedding and 2-3 days the following week, unless I want to take off the whole following week and just lose a couple days pay if I’ve exhausted my PTO.  If I get the new job I’m applying for, I’ll probably be lucky to take off the Friday before and the Monday after.  ๐Ÿ˜›

Actually in France they are legally required to give me the three days off before my wedding. Living here has its perks. I was planning on taking the Monday off as well because it is a holiday, but there is a huge event at work the following week so it looks like I’ll be back in reality soon afterwards. Also there are some random things I need to do for the wedding, so I’m debating if I should take a day off in April and just do it all at once instead of trying to escape the office here are there.

We want to take a 10 day cruise, but because we are waiting for honeymoon funds to come in before booking we might not take the trip until July or even August. I will certainly need the vacation!

Only 3 working days ๐Ÿ™ (Thursday, Friday and Monday). We have a mandatory 2 week shut down over Christmas and we have a week holiday in Bali for our hens/bucks/FI’s birthday so its all I could take whilst still leaving enough time for ’emergency’ annual leave days

Our honeymoon is going to be 5 days after the wedding (just happens to be when the cruise leaves) so in the end I will be taking almost 4 weeks (3 days before wedding) thinking of extending it so its just 4 weeks flat.

I think I should take off that tues and wed. Our wedding is that Thursday and then go back to work the following Tuesday… I don’t know what we are doing for the honeymoon. Fi is in school so I doubt a long one. Probably leave that Friday morning and come back sun/Monday. So 6-7 days off!

2.5 weeks!  taking off 4 days before the wedding a week for the honeymoon and almost a week after we get back.  I work 12 hour shifts 3 days a week so really Im only taking 72 hours off and I get almost 3 weeks off ๐Ÿ™‚

Since my wedding was destination at home we flew in a week early and I was so happy we did. There were so many last minute things that needed to be finalized in person I had more than enough stuff to keep me busy the whole week. Then e took a 11 day honeymoon rounding out my 3 full weeks of vacation. I saved up some days from the previous year so I did not have a lack of vacation days and my boss was understanding of the situation. I think it helped that she also got married in the same year.

I took 1 week prior and just over three weeks post.

Loved every minute of it. We honeymooned during this time in Hong Kong. ๐Ÿ™‚

The week before the wedding and the week after, so 2 weeks. Wish I could take more…

We got married on Veterans Day weekend, so I took Thursday and Monday off (since I had Friday off already). Honestly, I needed more time. When I went back to work on Tuesday, I was a wreck and cried all day (when I was alone, of course!). I was just super emotional and overwhelmed.

We didn’t go on our honeymoon until February, but now I understand why people go right away.

WOW some of you get A LOT of paid vacation.  I can’t imagine having that kind of time off.  Where I work we get 2 weeks (plus a day for xyz years of service).  You can’t carry over vacation, we are contracted 6 weeks of overtime and I’m salaried so I don’t get paid for the overtime and can’t take unpaid leave.

That being said I’m taking 1-2 days before the wedding and the week after so maybe 6-7 days PTO.

I’ll be graduating from University in August and getting married in October. I probably won’t start looking for a job until after the honeymoon…. so I’ll be off a few months
