Seven months (but spread out to a weekend of shopping per month, approximately). My fiance is now begging me to “get the dress that [I] love, no matter what”, and saying that he will gladly write a check for whatever portion is over my dress budget. We have 10 months until the wedding, so I don’t know why he is so freaked out. 🙂

I spent less than an hour total and tried on 3 dresses.

One day, one dress. We got engaged on a Tuesday, I went into a bridal shop with my mom on Friday (just to get an idea because I was a little nervous about going dress shopping with my Future Mother-In-Law the following day) and I showed the attendent the dress I was in love with and tried it on and that was it. My mom was nervous that I was going to have buyers remorse because I only tried the one dress but I just tried on MY dress this past Saturday and am more in love with it now than even then!

One afternoon. It was the third dress I tried on (though I tried on a few more after, just to be sure).

I took about 2 weeks – 3 visits to 1 shop. My first appointment, I tried on the kind of dresses I thought I’d like and didn’t find anything. At the 2nd appointment, I tried on every dress they had that was within my budget and found my dress. I waited a couple days to buy it, though, because my original sales person wasn’t available and I wanted her to get the commission.

A long time!
I went to my first appointment Mid-July. I found my dress the first week in November. I’m ordering it Friday. I had 6 different appointments where I tried on dresses at various salons. I probably tried on at least 40 dresses.

This sounds ridiculous but 7 months. I live out of state and only got to try on dresses when I was visiting my family so I could go with my mom and sister so shopping was VERY spread out. I did try on my dress the first weekend we went shopping (it was the second shop- the first was just Davids, and the second dress), however it was still so early that I didn’t want to commit (it was like 17 months before the wedding). They told me when I would need to order that dress by 10 months in advanced for that one), and I went to one other salon, and back to that same salon like 3 more times to retry on my dress on try on new stock before I committed. I think we only spent 4-5 days actually trying on dresses though. Plus- I sort of needed that 7 months of “searching” just to save up money to purchase it

The first store I went too.. lol I don’t think that ever happens with anything! It was like 9th dress I tried on

First shop within an hour! It was 5th or 6th dress I tried on and nothing compared to it after! 🙂
When you know, you know I suppose!

I spent about a year of frequently looking at dresses online, then one appointment at DB with styles I liked from their site and also other inspiration so the person could try to pick out other similar styles I may have not come across. I was very unhappy with the consultant and the appointment, and I had one I liked but it didn’t make me crazy in love with it. Online shopped for another year, not finding anything that really wowed me. A couple weeks ago I browsed in 2 shops by myself, nothing I liked enough to try on. Then I was browsing on the used dress sites because I felt like if nothing was going to wow me I sure wasn’t going to spend an arm and a leg for it, and thats when I found “the one.” It wasn’t the type of style I was looking for, but I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I inquired to the seller and got no response, so started searching for that style and inquired with 5 sellers with no responses from any of them. I set up dress alerts so that if someone posted that dress, I would know, then last week I got an email alert for that dress in my size, and I snatched it up! I haven’t tried it on yet, but I have no doubts im going to love it.

One day. I searched online… Made an appointment at a local boutique that had a small small selectuon. Fell in love with a Vera Wang dress on paper – had it sent to a huge store in Cincinatti (Bridal and Formal). Tried it on and absolutely hated the way I looked in it and tried on a bunch of dresses and ended up falling in love with something that was the exact opposite of what I thought I wanted. I was glad that BF had so many options (like 4,000 dresses I think) and it made me feel like I had a great selection to choose from and didn’t need to hunt and settle. Cant wait for my dress to come in at the end of May!

As much time as it took me to check out online at Ann Taylor. I had seen the dress over a year ago helping a Girlfriend of mine pick out a gown. When I got engaged, much to my luck, it was still there! Ordered it the week after I was engaged and it fits beautifully. I might just have the front slit sewn up a bit, other than that it fits awesome!
I honestly couldn’t get behind the experience of gown shopping. It was pulling teeth at every one of my proms. :/

Took me a total of probably 4 hours and 10 dresses. I ended up buying the 3rd one I tried one. Brought it home with me that same day and was in my closet for 6 months before I started doing the alterations
