Are you having those accessories in the picture in your hair? I would think $200 sounds accurate. Is she coming to your venue or other location and doing it?

@Nanuli:  Im paying $220 for both hair and make up and I am going to the salon to do it. I own my own clip in extensions so they put them in at no cost. However, If they provided the clip in’s then they charge 25 to 35 per track whcih can easily add up. So, she is charging you $200 +$175? You may want to see if you can buy the clip in hair on your own at a beauty supply store. I think if you LOVE the way she does your hair… splurge because you want to feel beautiful that day. My place is also charging me for the trail ๐Ÿ™‚

I am paying $50 for my updo and $50 for each of my girls. The lady doing our hair is coming to the hotel to do it. If I would have gone to the salon they would have charged me $95 and the bridesmaids would have been $75.

My stylist came to me and it was $285 for hair and makeup and my hair was super simple (long, wavy, down) so with that in mind, since yours is more complicated, I think it’s not a bad price at all. A local salon that specializes in blowouts also offers updos starting at $75, and you have to go to them. $75 for the trial sounds about right too. Do you really need clipped in hair?

– i paid either 20 or 25 for mine and my trial was free. & i went to her salon. my hair was a steal if you ask me. i loved it !

-instead of paying her 175 for hair, why dont you buy extentions or whatever you will be using at sallys and see if they are cheaper ?

I paid $75 for mine and she came to my house to do it and that included a hair trial. it was half u half down curled with a bit of a volume bump and she put my veil in. $200 sounds high to me.

I had my make up airbrushed on and she also did an updo for me plus fake eyelashes. . . it was $160.  She came out to my hotel room and put up with my dad’s politics talk so She got $200

It really depends on where you live. Demographics play a big role in service costs. Where I live a typical updo (bridal or prom-like) range from $60-100 depending on how much hair you have. My mom is stylist and I worked in her salon for a good amount of time. I remember once a bridal party came in and I checked them out an their bill was $200 for like 3 or 4 girls. If you want to cut cost, try finding someone who is in an apprenticeship with a salon like Aveda, or even local salons have girl who are doing their hours on the floor. They always have a mastcut stylist watching their work. Believe me I am so anal about my hair, my mom does awesome work so I guess I can be choosy, lol, but a lot of the newer stylists have more model style they know how to do and they can do an awesome job!

I had a braided updo (fairly similar to what you have pictured) that cost $35. Admittedly, it was in a small town where prices are cheaper, but it was really well done all the same.

I’m paying $50 for hair and makeup (that includes my trial). They had a special running if you had 5 or more Bridesmaid or Best Man with you, you got that deal..
