I’m not getting married in a church, our’s is just a Justice of the Peace.  Her rate is $100.  It seems really low to me since it’s not someone we know, but I’m not going to complain much.  Maybe we’ll kick her another $50.

Our church sets out guidelines for what to pay: $100 each for the organist and custodian, $200 for the reverend, and $165 for the church.

Our officiant is a family friend. He just got ordained and is this is his first ceremony. He is not a pastor at a church yet and we are getting married on the beach. I *think* we are going to give him $300…. but I really am not sure yet!

We got married in the Catholic church where we’re parishoners.  Church rental was $250, and we gave the officiant $200.

This was so helpful ladies! I have been wondering the same thing. We’re paying his travel but wanted to give extra too. He’s a friend too though. We were thinking in the $200 range as well. I feel like it’s one of those expenditures you won’t regret later.
