I’ve always heard to register for twice as many gifts as gifts givers. So assuming your 75 guests are mostly couples that’s roughly 40 gift givers there + 40 shower goers * 2 =160 gifts. It doesn’t have to be exact but I think you should pick out a bit more stuff. Although if your multiples include things like 12 place settings of china and silverware you might be ok.

there’s no dollar guideline. just make sure you have things at all price points. you also want to register for at least 2 per guest so that all of your guests have a choice.

You know your friends and family best. In some circles $50 is a lot and others $300 is the norm.  So pick a wide variety based on what you know.

I wouldn’t worry too much about seeming greedy. People want to have plenty of options to choose from. I would suggest trying to choose lots of things in the $50 – $70 range. I hate when I check someone’s registry and all that’s left is extravagantly expensive things that are out of my budget and $5 kitchen gadgets. 🙂
