We’re sending out about 300ish invitations…expecting about 100 people per reception (we’re having two). How many items should I register for? I’m registered at Target and right now I have about 117 items right now…

We invited 300 people, and we registered at four different stores. Many who were unable to attend our wedding still sent a gift, and our registries were almost totally maxed out by the day of our wedding.
I’d err on the side of registering for too many things. It at least gives your guests options. We actually had a couple of guests complain to us that we didn’t have enough left on our registries for them to choose from!
Are you having any bridal showers? I was surprised by how big a dent my bridal showers made in my registries. We had to add more items after my showers!

When I registered, the consultant recommended 2 registry items for each invited guest. It’s also important to include gifts in various price ranges. This will make sure that everyone has enough selection to buy you a nice gift.

Also, watch your registries to see how picked-over they’ve become. If one of the lists starts looking a little thin, top it off! Maybe add on a few things you didn’t consider necessary before and call it icing on the cake if someone picks them up for you. My sister added things like TV trays and corncob dishes when she saw how her original Target registry was almost depleted. Going to a store and seeing that someone only has expensive things left on a registry is kind of frustrating, so KEEP ADDING those little fun things here and there if you need to.
