Just out of curiosity, how many hours per day on average do you watch TV? I used to watch a lot more, but since having my 18 month old son I watch about an hour a day. Gotta have my after dinner Netflix!

DH and I usually watch How I Met Your Mother from 6pm-9pm during the week.

Haha…way too much I’m sure. Fiance and I love watching TV together and have lots of fun doing it! Plus, I usually have it on during the day while I’m doing other things.

I watch an alarming amount of TV.
When I stop and think about it though I don’t really actually watch it during the week. I have it on as background but I’m usually working out/cooking/cleaning/shopping online or on the bee. Weekends are a whole different story though… Those are reserved for binge watching stuff on Netflix 🙂 At least during the winter.

It’s hard for me to tell. A lot of time I’ll have it on in the background while I’m doing other things but I’m not actively watching it. Then I’ll hear something interesting and get caught up in a show for 30 minutes. But I probably watch more than I should on an average day.

I used to spend so much time in front of the TV, back in my school days. But when I started working I hardly got any free time anymore.
I would probably spend an average of 30 minutes to an hour watching the news in the morning and that’s about it.

I think I watch more than the average person. As soon as I get home, I turn on the tv. I like to have it on even when I’m cooking dinner or even when just doing other things. Whenever we are home, SO and I always cuddle and watch tv after dinner.

My fiance and I don’t even have TV because we know we are not to be trusted.
If I REALLY want to watch something, I’ll download it and watch it on my laptop. The only shows I really follow are The Walking Dead and Project Runway, so if one of those is running I watch about an hour of TV a week.

More than I should! I usually do other stuff while I’m watching though.

We watch Mercy Street and Black Sails every week, so that’s 2 hours right there. Then we rent a movie on Friday or Saturday, another 2 hours. My husband may turn on part of a football game. I generally prefer reading to tv; we don’t have tv’s in the bedroom and the kids weren’t allowed to either. I see a lot of kids being raised to watch endless hours of tv, but something in me recoils at the thought. Both my kids grew up enjoying reading and I definitely believe that limiting their tv was the right choice.

It’s on basically as soon as we get home until we go to bed…never not on honestly. Not super good but oh well

Too much!…sorta. My husband is addicted to TV, I found the amount of tv he watches very peculiar and a turn off when we first got together. I did not even own a TV for several years before we moved in together. Now my ass is sitting on the couch right next to him much of the time, only I am reading/browsing internet mostly. Which I don’t see as much better, if at all better than staring at the TV.
I hate the TV actually, it’s a sore spot in our household. But I know I cannot change him. We have a small house and it just feels like our space and energy is dominated by that damn TV, and it sucks me in to the black hole that is the couch for that reason. I am trying to figure out how to improve this situation.
