just selected my stylist for my July wedding this weekend and was a little surprised about their prices! Well, they had the wrong prices on their homepage (around USD 300,00) and than they told me the prices had changed. And now it will be USD 380,00!! I have to mention that my hair and make up will be done by the owner, a stylist who is quite popular and good in what he does! Hope that’s worth it;-) Plus: they are located in a very beautiful mansion, so the pictures will be gorgeous (at least I hope so, our photographer will accompany me…). And I really want something special done with my hair and not an updo every hairdresser could do…
So how much did you pay? (By the way: I think this kind of “stuff” is much more cheaper in the US…)
Curious about your comments;-) Thanks!

I am getting married in a 3rd world country and my make up will be done by a good make up artist and she is charging me the equaivalent of 530 euro (make up and hair, no trial but will stay back for a touch up before the reception) so in comparison, USD380 is not that much. That said, I’m in Holland and the rates for bridal make up & hair are SO much lower (average about 100+ and that usually even includes a trial)

Free, technically. I am doing my own makeup and my friend is doing my hair. However, I had to pay for some expensive new makeup and I do plan on “tipping” my friend.

I’m getting mine in Scotland. 45GBP for trial. 45 GBP for wedding day hair and 45 GBP for wedding day makeup. Apparently they really like 45 as a nice round number.

My hair cost me $60 plus I had to pay $40 for the extensions. I did my own makeup but the actual products cost about $80 since i bought MUFE HD foundation, stila lip color and stila mascara.

Hair $75 and makeup $75. I’ll have to pay for the trial though – $100 for both.

$140 makeup and $150 hair.

My hair stylist will do my hair for $45 and my make up artist will do my make up for $45. My bridesmaids can get hair for the same, but make up for them will be $35.

I see that the prices differ very much! To be honest, I’m a little afraid what they are doing with my make up:-) I’m very picky in that matter! But I really don’t want to look the same as I do when I go out and I want to look good the WHOLE day. Well, will have my trial on April 21th. Will keep you in the loop;-)
Probably my sister will go with me. Hope they are not charging her the same price as for me!

@Bernie1407: Hey, at least you get a trial!:D I think I would have gone for a cheaper one if I could have a trial first but because I’m flying in just 2 days before, I have no choice but to go one which is more ‘dependable’.
Usually they charge a lot less for bridesmaids, MOB or random evening make up. For eg. , my ‘expensive’ bridal make up artist (500+ euro) charges about 75 euro for bridesmaids/MOB and something like 50 for normal evening make up. I paid 25 euro for my bridesmaid make up last year and it was quite nice I thought 🙂

In my area, $250-$350 is the range for on-site hair and makeup with trial. It’s less expensive for those who go to salons.

I hired a girl to come do our hair and makeup at the hotel. It’s $50 for her to travel and then I’ll pay $100 for both hair and makeup (combined).
