We had a full open bar for 85 guests and the total was $1509. Have you checked the prices to do it with all included and with what you’ve picked that’s the best price? Can you provide your own liquor or no?

@UpstateCait:OMG…that’s insane. I’m in NJ and you’re only in NY, and I’ve never heard of such a thing. Pretty slick at some wedding venues, huh?

Good luck with this one. Sounds like what you’re doing is what will work best at those prices!

@UpstateCait: I live in ALbany NY. We are doing open bar for 6 hours at my wedding.. were not doing premium open bar though.. we will have top shelf bottles just not bottles like johnny walker blue or anything thats vsop! Were paying 24$ a head for this. If we did just beer wine soda it would be 18$ a head.. if we did premium it would be 28$  ANywho.. if you do a consumption bar it could work out for you … or go terribly wrong!! your having 85 people right? say 40 of them drink wine, say they have 3 glasses(which is not alot) Being a bartender i know most glasses of wine go for 8$.. that alone would be 960$ then add beer drinkers.. even on the cheap side at least 5$ a beer..say 20 people are drinking beer. they can easily drink 4 beers.. see where i m going with this.. a bar tab can add up very fast!!!!!!! Good luck!

Is there any way to have the options you mentioned, but negotiate with your venue that it would be consumption based if it was less than the price per person?
