Just curious, I’m a Toronto area bee looking at prices for all inclusive resorts to possibly host our wedding at. We are thinking Cuba and Dominican right now as from the prices I’ve been seeing, they seem to be the most economical for a 1 week stay.
I will post a poll too. But please feel free to leave a comment on what the wedding package was, number of guests, etc.
How much did you and your DH/FI pay for your flights/accomodations/meals (a.k.a the package price) as well as the separate wedding ceremony and reception?

First post! I’m also from Toronto! We are going to the Dominican in December, all-inclusive costs us around $1300 per person. The wedding package we picked is around $1500 and includes the first 24 guests, but I have a feeling I will be adding a lot of extra things to it…

@jlc3: I’m also a Toronto bride that got married in Cuba in May. We stayed for 11 days and our guests stayed for 7 days. The cost per person was $1200 and our stay was basically free because we got a complimentary cost of one person for each 16th guest that booked (we could get up to three of them) and we had 67 guests come! We then paid for a private dinner and reception for $46 per person and the ceremony space was free. We only had to pay for the decorating of the ceremony space (I brought my own chair ties)extra champagne, the musical trio and of course the photographer. I think we paid about a total of $5000 on our destination wedding because we paid for our bridal parties clothing and I brought my own fake real touch bouquets for the flowers. You can check out my recep for pictures 🙂

@jlc3: Does this include photography and videography?

If I remember correctly, my brother said his Destination Wedding wedding, including their stay, cost 10k. They had 28 guests and no bridal party. I am assuming this included vendors and their welcome lunch.
Some of us arrived Wed, wedding was that Saturday, most people left Sunday and they stayed a few days for a short honeymoon.
They got married at the El Conquistador Resort in Puerto Rico. Great place! It was not all inclusive though. (fine by us).
Also, this is what he said. But I know he and my parents didn’t have much money, so I don’t imagine he made it up.

I am not using a resort, but a private garden venue with reception space, plated dinner, photography, and full time wedding planner going custom route versus package route. I can select every single aspect I want without compromising anything I’ve been dreaming of. No bridal party by choice. For 20-ish guests and including apparel, honeymoon, gifts, rehearsal dinner, invitation suite, vendor tipping, just every single thing on theknot’s budget checklist, I am budgeting about 12,000-15,000 dollars and am right on target so far.

@MidwestMouse: I guess I am more curious about the cost for your guests to fly/stay, etc, but since we are considering flying a photographer out, that cost would be great to include!
@anna.mariebrickhousetobe: awesome breakdown – thanks!
Thanks everyone for your input and votes. I was away this weekend and came back to lots of responses! Sorry for the delay there

yijie88– do you mind if I ask where you are getting married. That sounds like a great deal!

We got married in Kauai with about 50 guests. Our wedding was very DIY. We got married next to the beach, rented the local pavilion, ordered catering from a local place and bought our drinks at Costco. I would say that we spent about $3500.

Refreshing for new bees.
I’m scared by the breakdown so far to be honest. Did anyone do a destination wedding with 30 people or less and spend under $5K? That’s kinda my goal if possible. Is that doable? Eeee. We’re considering this as our lowest budget wedding at home pricing with everything but photography included was $6 or 7k.
