The first time I got married I had a destination wedding in Jamaica at an 5* all inclusive resort… not including attire, these were the costs. I can’t believe I remember it all! We used the resort’s wedding planner.

Ceremony & marriage license – 350

Invitations & programs, etc. – 500

Rentals for ceremony (chair covers, aisle runner, etc.) – 900

Flowers (silk) – 600

Photography – 1500

Reception room rental (this included dinner since it was at an AI) – 1000

Reception decor (including favours) – 700

Champagne and cake – 1200

I think that’s it..

@kayberry:  That’s a good idea! The resort charged $150/person if they didn’t stay at our resort just to come to the wedding.

At the time, there was only one direct flight out of my city to Jamaica so it made sense for everyone to stay at the same place and get the same package deal. It was actually pretty good, it was $3,300/person without the deal, and my travel agent was able to get it down to $2,500.

It definitely helps having a good planner!

Our total budget for our Costa Rica destination wedding is $12,000.

Flights from New Mexico to San Jose:  $1,600

4 nights in Master Suite:  $2,150

Maid/Matron of Honor suite lodging:  $700

Ceremony venue:  Free because we are having it on the terrace of our suite (its 800 sqft)

Reception venue:  $200 (includes all tables, chairs, linens, place settings, waitstaff)

Audio system:  $150

Floral:  $600 (fresh orchids and calla lilies)

Dinner for 13:  $750

Canapes and champagne toast:  $250

Alcohol:  Completely open bar menu we will pay at end of evening (over-estimate of $1000)

Small cake:  $120

Officient/legal fees:  $650 (Marcelo Galli has been wonderful to work with)

Photographer:  $1,200

The rest has gone to clothes, accessories, invites, welcome bags, ect.  We are $1,400 under budget right now, but I wanted to have a good reserve for gratuities and unexpected expenses.

I have spent 18 months planning everything myself.  The event coordinator at the hotel has sent my requests to the florist and arranged our dinner, but otherwise I’ve been pretty much on my own.

@kayberry:  check out the websites of hotels/resorts in costa rica to see if they have a wedding package that includes everything (officiant, flowers, rentals, food, photography, room upgrade, etc)  all of the resorts that i have been to offer wedding packages.

1 week in cyprus at 4* hotel inc dress suits cake flowers chairs food for 25 people rings absolutley everything plus a church blessing and reception at golf club back at home £7500

Could have easily done it for £6000 but my dad wanted us to have a la carte food on the beach privately so paid for that and extra drinks.

I was happy we are getting everything we could wish for.

@kayberry:  My Destination Wedding is in Anna Maria Island, FL. It’s not all inclusive, everyone coming is getting rental houses for the week, and food is separate. We are having about 70 guests probably. We are probably spending about 20,000. That’s not including any travel costs, just the wedding. Our venue has a DOC.
