    @ashescats:

    My dress is a Sophia tolli, it goes for about 1300 here in Montreal, I’m getting it in Moose Creek for 1098.   I think that’s reasonable, that’s about the price I figured I would be paying.   I would never even look at dresses above 2k.

    I cannot understand spending that much money on a dress, yikes!

    I have no idea how much my actual dress was, however the total for my veil, dress, and crinoline was $1,400.

    My original plan was to either wear the dress that my grandmother made/wore, or to go with a replica dress, but I ended up purchasing a dress from a shop. It was about $750 with tax.

    MOST people don’t spend $$$$$ on their dresses. The dresses at Kleinfeld START at $2000 or $2500 (although they carry Maggie Sottero, which is much less), and they’re in New York City, so that does have something to do with it, but they carry BIG name designers, which means $$$$$.

    Mine retailed for $3k, but I got it as a sample for $1159. 68% off, woohoo!

    Kleinfeld’s isn’t very realistic for most people. They carry big name brands and they’re like the ULTIMATE runway bridal store. Hell, my best friend’s sister got her dress from there and it was $20k.

    …that’s a car, just sayin.

    @vorpalette:

    My mother kept her dress for me to wear.  It was beautiful in the 70s but ehhhhh, not my style.  Plus, I’m like, 6 inches taller than she is, and much thinner, so the dress doesn’t fit.   I will be wearing her veil and crinoline though.   I want to use some of the lace from her dress into mine, but I don’t think the style fits  :/   Not sure how I’m going to swing that

    $350 for dress, veil and slip. I tried it on in a store, then found someone on recycled bride selling the exact same one. But in store it would’ve been about $700.

    Mine was $850. Mori Lee is awesome. None of my friends, family or bridesmaids could believe my dress was not over $2000.

    Even though my parents bought my dress, I would not let them spend over $1000. I had originally fallen in love the Venecia by Maggie Sottero but the cheapest I could find it was $1600 and that was wayyyyy too much even though my mom would have gladly purchased it for me.

    the dress I chose is a considerable amount more than $4000. So many factors come into play for the price ppl are willing to pay for their dress…its all relative with no right or wrong answers

    My dress was $750 before taxes and without alterations and the veil but everyone thought it was at least $2000! My bestfriend asked me how much I paid and she was shocked when I told her the price!

    900$ before tax – DaVinci. My budget was as cheap as possible – I was SO mad that David’s Bridal opened in Ottawa AFTER my wedding (like, literally, two months after. ARGH).

    I am hoping to keep the dress under $500 but my family has somehow decided that $2000 on a dress is more appropriate and are willing to buy it for me. I know thats what my friends have spent on dresses in the past but it seems silly.
