- Wedding: September 2014 - Lodge
@Cheeks225: Thank you. Its so different from my original dress but when I saw it in a picture I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I had to try it on. I swear everything about this dress just fell into place. I couldn’t afford it but I wanted to try it on anyway. I made an appt on the very weekend the shop started their sample sale. Then 2 days before I was to try the dress on my car sold (after being for sale for several months) and I had enough from the sale to buy the dress! Then I try on the dress and it fit PERFECT! I cried, it was like everything was pointing me to this dress.

Dress: $1050 including tax
Alterations: $365 (Hem and bustle)
Veil: $275. However, when I picked up my dress they forgot to put it on the bag or the bill, and when I sent my husband to go get it they thought they’d charged us and just forgotten to put it in the bag, so we walked out with it for free. I did call to offer to pay.
Accessories: $500 diamond pendant, but it was a birthday gift from years ago, not specificaly purchased for the wedding, so I’d say $0.

My dress was $300, alterations was $200 for just the hem and bustle (I didn’t need it fitted it was my size)and the undergarments (petticoat and bra) for $121. I got my veil from ebay (DB veil sells at $150 before tax, I got it for $89) as well as my necklace and earring set ($10) and tiara ($50). I got my shoes from DSW for $54 including tax which makes my wedding attire a total of $824!

@StephieBee: once I fell in love with the dress there was nothing I could have done about it go matter how much it cost 🙂
