@MissXray:  I just want to say your ring is STUNNING! I love it! I also have an emerald cut, though a solitaire on a pave band. ECs are my favorite πŸ™‚

My setting was customized for my center stone, and based on a signature design from an up-scale jewler who works primarily with vintage rings. It is a 3/4 eternity floral halo and it cost $2,700.

My center stone is a 3ct Old European Cut Amora Enhanced Moissanite, and it cost us approx. $1,900.

So total, it comes to around $4,600 (which I think is a steal for what we got!)

@Kat:  Your ring is STUNNING!!! And huge, so jealous! (I don’t actually have one yet, but if I did I’d want this one!!!) do you get a lot of people ask if it is real / how much it was? πŸ™‚

@ParisM: Thank you so much! I also adore it!

I do get a fair amount of people that ask me if it’s real, which I think is rude. If I’m asked, I tell them it’s an antique cut moissanite gem stone in a diamond setting. To be honest, if I ever moved away, I’d probably tell everyone that it’s a diamond. I get sick of having people look at me with pity and say “it’s pretty anyway, even though it’s not a diamond.” I don’t think they get the fact that just because it isn’t a diamond, it doesn’t mean it’s a cracker jack ring.

Nonetheless, I’m still very very very happy with our choice and I wouldn’t switch to a diamond even if I had known how rude people could be. I’m a free spirit, if I hadn’t gone moissy, I’d have gone gemstone πŸ™‚

My engagement ring is a .75, 14 carat white gold.  My hubby paid approximately $1300 for it.  My bands are from Berricle!  I paid a whopping $40 each for them.

I wish now that we had gone with Berricle for everything.  I feel like my priorities change.  I desperately wanted a beautiful diamond ring and didn’t know my other options before.  That being said, I LOVE my ring and wear it with pride everyday.

$420 for the white gold setting, just a plain 14k 6-prong solitaire setting and about $2 for the lab created white sapphire we put in it! πŸ™‚

@MissXray:  You’re welcome! Seriously gorgeous πŸ™‚ here is mine, love the ECs!

Oh and I guess I’ll answer the original question — I don’t know the exact cost because DH doesn’t want me to know, but I’m pretty sure it was close to $10,000 for my 1.55 ct diamond and the pave band. Whew, kind of freaks me out to write that down lol.

$2400 (or roughly that I can’t remember off the top of my head) I got a deal on it because it is not a true “engagement” ring but what the jeweler called a “fashion” ring.  It’s 2 carat total, center is a cluster and bands are paved.  LOVE LOVE LOVE my ring.

The e-ring was around $4k.  I don’t know all the stats off hand, but the center stone is approx 1.4k (I think it’s 1.39 or something like that, but it has a wide crown so it looks more like 1.5k).
