I love ring topics. I just think its so interesting to see everyones rings, their taste and to see everyone just so ecstatic, it doesn’t matter how much your Fiance paid for your ring because everyone has that same feeling when they get their ring… That “OMFG its happening screaming at the top of your lungs excitement”
I don’t think the price of our ring has any reference to how much your “entire wedding cost”.
My sisters wedding was a little over 16k and her ring was probably just under 2k, my wedding to be will be under 6k (hopefully) and my ring was just over 19k. a friend of mine her ring was probably around 10-20k but she has over 650 guest going to her wedding. it all just varies.. I think the couple hundred dollar rings are JUST as beautiful and as special as the a little pricier rings.

Interesting thread ladies.
I am blown away by the stats!
@esrockhold: interesting points 🙂
@:sunstarandmoon: no need to insult the bee above you. Great points and remember this is a forum 😉 Everyone is entitled to THEIR thoughts. Lastly, no need to insult other bees about them potentially being upset about their rings. That’s not very “community” of you.
Simply put.. All rings on this site are GORGEOUS!

I’m on the fence here. I shouldn’t know how much he spent, only I do because I file and sort his financial information (if I waited for him to do it, it would never happen, and we would never be able to find any paperwork when we needed it). This includes his credit card info. And there was a transaction there which I think was my ring.
I really wish I hadn’t seen it, and am trying to pretend (even to myself) that I didn’t, because I think that money taints stuff like this. Looking at what everyone else voted, it was on the low side. I still think it was a lot of money, and would never have chosen something that expensive for myself, but the ring is lovely and exactly what I wanted. I suppose I’m… relived that he didn’t overspend too much, I guess, after looking at this poll?

This is a hard question to answer actually he spent less on the diamond (due to a discount) but was provided the e-ring setting but god forbid anything should happen to it we would get almost twice what it cost to get the diamond to replace the whole set so I’m going to say my ring was around for the cost of the diamond because that is what it actually cost him. (And I only found this out for insurance purposes would like it better if I didnt know because I liked not knowing but I am happy to know he didnt break the bank getting it.)

mine was about £80 which is somewhere around the $120 mark, i’m relieved that it didn’t cost the earth, this sounds awful but i have lost it twice already. I do have a second identical one but that was £40 in the sale. (so $60) the second one is bigger as my hands swell a lot… but i tend to just take my ring off and let my hands calm down…. i swore the cat had eaten it once. in fact ooops i don’t have it on right now. Fiance doesn’t mind as he understands my problems. arthritis and forgetfullness bad ring combination and the fact i don’t really like jewellrey anyway.

I voted i dont know, because i dont know what it is in $ . My first ring was just £300 from Overstock, but we had lots of problems with it and Overstock, but eventually got a refund and returned he ring. My second and current ring was in the sales at Hsamuel and was £699…its now on their website for £1000. I didnt want him to spend lots on a ring but he told me i could have what ever i liked. luckily what i like is small simply and elegant and that disnt cost much luckily!!

My moissanite ring will cost £800 ($1,250) – £500 for the moissanite, £300 for the setting.
Had we bought the equivalent diamond it would have cost over £6,000 ($9,400) and I would much rather that money go on our honeymoon – epic Disney World trip, here we come!

I didn’t vote, but my ring was $6,600 from Excel Diamonds. I really love the Tiffany Legacy ring, but the one I tried on at Tiffany’s was $20,000. Spending that much on a ring was not appealing to me — because it certainly did not look like a $20,000 ring. I searched online and decided to go with Excel because I liked their Tiffany Legacy setting the best. I got an excellent cut cushion diamond, I colour, VS2 clarity and it was just over 1 carat and in platinum setting. I haven’t received it yet, but I picked it out myself. I went to Spence Diamonds here in Canada and they said that this ring would cost me around $13,000-$15,000 to make in their store. Having the Tiffany brand didn’t matter to me because nobody knows anyway.

- Wedding: September 2014 - Lodge
Around $2600. I am kind of practical when it comes to weddings/engagements. It’s ridiculous how much they jack up the prices because its an “engagement” ring or a “wedding” dress. I picked out something that would have cost way more than it was worth if it would have had the word “engagement” tagged on. Instead we got it within our budget, the size I wanted, unique because the ring is a “fashion” ring instead. I didn’t want a cookie cutter ring and that’s all I was finding for our budget.

I was looking in the 2k area and ended up with a 5k ring (which I don’t have yet). Which I can barely stomach! I’m a worry-wart so I was afraid to get something expensive because I’m going to be worrying about losing it, etc. ALL THE TIME! I worry about losing my $180 promise ring, haha. So 5k to me is insane but it’s all about perspective. We ae very against going into debt unless it’s debt for buying a house or car. Anything else and we would rather just not have it. And my SO could pay off the ring in less then 2 months so I guess that buying the 5k ring make me feel a little better.
To each their own!

My fiance proposed with a stering sliver hawaiian turtle ring. that fit on my pinky:) (he proposed in hawaii) and i said yes. He said he thought about waiting for the ring his grandma was going to send up from down south but im glad he didnt. It was a purple sapphire with two dimonds on the side. and white gold band.It arrived by the time we got home. Anything would have been fine. she actually sent the paper work and it said like 3000 something. So now i wear my engagment ring (ring finger) AND my little turtle ring on my pinky.
Im really glad he didnt wait till the ring got in (we live in alaska so its far from most jewlery stores).
He said his grandma suggested instead of getting the turtle ring to do what they did back in the day. which was (when the men had no money) buy an expensive cigar and propose with the (back then real) gold paper ring around it. i thought that was such a sweet idea. But he said he really wanted me to have a little momento from our trip.:) anyways couldnt be happier!!!!
My wedding ring was my grandmas so i didnt get to pick out either ring. which is fine with me. i think the fact that grandmas from both sides contributed, makes it worth more than anything else i could have picked out.

1.81 ct SI1 K-L diamond in white gold…..1500.00 from a private seller. Tested as a diamond and I have ni idea of the market value No insurance appraisal since I do not insure my jewelry. it does throw some gray or yellow depending upon the light but I actually don’t mind it. I compared it to my mother’s 2 ct center stone and while hers is a VERY nice stone, I can definitely see a differrence between the two stones 🙂 Doesn’t matter…I wanted a larger stone and was willing to compromise. Not a choice for everyone, certainly, but worked for me.
