We’ll be doing 2 trips for our honeymoon- a quick trip to bermuda right after the wedding for about 4K or so not including expenses.
And then a big trip Africa for safari in may 2018 or so that one will be pricey (about 15K+) but it’s such a once in a lifetime opportunity and something we probably won’t be able to do until we have much older children.

kuriousbee : Your honeymoon sounds like the ultimate dream! We’d love to do something similar for an anniversary, maybe our 10th. What an amazing memory!

I can’t really remember exactly how much we spent, but we went to Spain (7 nights in Barcelona, 2 nights in Begur) from Boston. I think flights per person were around $700- $800 RT. We probably spent another $1000-$1500 on hotels and maybe $1000 on food and drinks. So, without factoring in museum fees, etc, we spent around $3700. I felt the most comfortable splurging on hotels. We had a private deck and jacuzzi which was amazing.

tomkitty : Camping is one of my favorite things, if you are in the US a National Parks roadtrip would make an amazing honeymoon.
It’s not a bad thing to not spend a lot of money on your honeymoon. A lot of people consider it “the trip of a lifetime” but it doesn’t have to be! You will have lots of opportunities to take a dream vacation with your husband, the honeymoon doesn’t have to be your dream vacation.
Also, it helps to use a travel rewards credit card to help with paying for any vacation. We have racked up $1500 for our honeymoon and without that we probably couldn’t afford it.

We did a week in Paris, a week in London, and a week in Cancun. It totalled about $15,000 USD all told with food and a little shopping. I’m a hotel snob, so fancy hotels aren’t really a splurge so much as a nonnegotiable, but that would probably be one. Also food. We ate at a couple Michelin rated restaurants, but for the record, we wouldn’t do that again.

hikingbride : Which resort did you stay in? And was it adults-only?

- Wedding: June 2017 - A Historic Inn
We are going to the Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina for 2 weeks total. To cut costs, we are driving (about 14 hours one way) and we’re using our vacation package “weeks” to get our beachside condos very cheap ($450 per week). We figure our final budget will be about $3,000. We are splurging on a couple deep sea fishing excursions, which are about 25% of our budget!

We spent about $3500 on our honeymoon. We took a 5 day, 4 night cruise to the Bahamas from Florida. We got the unlimited alcohol package and made it an all-inclusive. Then we went to Disney World for a weekend. It was worth every penny!

We eloped to Key West, stayed in a really nice suite for 9 days, ate and drank EVERYTHING 😁 I cringed when I added it all up later and realized we spent somewhere between $6000- $7000, but that included our little $350ish wedding (including beautiful photos!) And all of it was worth it.

5k for two weeks in Costa Rica. I’m a little uncomfortable with the price, but we decided to splurge when we got a wicked deal on flights.

missjoy0819 : We did splurge a lot on our honeymoon but felt it was worth it as a honeymoon only comes once. We went to Cook Islands and Australia – a definite must-see!! 🙂

beeingpatient123 : Yes, that’s where we’re staying. I don’t think there are many all-inclusive options there and it was highly recommended from friends.

We went to Japan for 14 days costing $11k total.
$3200 was on a direct flight (gift from his parent’s)
$3000 was on hotels (4 different hotels, Tokyo Disney Celebration hotel cost the most)
The remainder was on food, acitivities, and gifts. Gifts were probably our splurge. We brought home 43 people gifts and everyone got multiples of gifts. We went overboard because we brought back 2 extra luggage home.

We delayed ours, so it’s this summer. Everything has been paid for already, so my numbers are correct. We are taking a 5 night cruise with a two day stay in Havana Cuba. We are staying in Florida a full day before and after.
Our budget is $5000
Hotel in Florida: $300
This leaves a little over $1000 for meals off the ship, souvenirs, drinks, ect.
