$194,000 for a “2006” 957sqft 2 Bed + Flex, 2 Bath apartment, about an hour and a bit outside of Vancouver. I am very envious of all of you that can buy a house for under $200,000, Houses here start at $300,000 and they are old lol

Our home is in a suburb of Calgary, and it cost us $379,000.  It’s a 6 bedroom, 3.5 bath with about 2700 sq ft, double attached garage built in 2006 (we purchased in 2009.)  The same house in Calgary would cost at least $500,000.

Our condo that we rent out in Calgary cost $168,900.  It’s a 1 bed, 1 bath, 622 sq ft on the top floor with mountain views. We bought it while still in the building process, so it’s brand new.  One recently went up for sale on the 2nd floor, for $30,000 more than what they paid, so we’re happy to see the equity building after only 3.5 months of having possession.

2 bed, 1.5 bath condo (apartment-style) with two deeded outdoor parking spots for $99k. In the Chicago suburbs, about 15 miles from downtown. It was a foreclosure and in a great town. It’s on the cheap street in the really nice neighborhood – one street over are $500k – $700k single family homes.

We’re submitting a bid for a 2 bedroom condo for $476,000 and will almost certainly be outbid. It’s in one of the cheapest areas of the Bay Area, and it’s pretty freaking depressing (the cost/market is depressing. The condo itself is lovely!)

We built our house about three years ago in a suburb of Oklahoma City. 4 bedrooms, 3 bath, 3 car garage, 2400 square feet for $220k.

ETA- my mom bought her house in the same town we live in about 15 years ago (it was built in the 70’s) for about $55k and could easily sell it for over $100k today. Hoping our house increases in value like that!

The Arizona housing market is still very much depressed. Just to give people perspective, my parents bought a 2,300 square foot home at the height of the market in a really good neighborhood at about $350,000. The house is now foreclosed and just recently sold for $145,000. =(

My fiance and I purchased a home last year in September for $150,000. It is 2,400 square feet with 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, and a 3-car garage. It came with a pool. Our home was built in 2007, so still very new.

I’m shocked at how much houses cost in other places. I am very happy to be living in Arizona. LOL

My DH and I bought our 1332sq ft 2bd+loft/2.5bth townhome in March for $220,000. It is in a very nice gated community and it has a 2 car attached garage.  The market is starting to get a little better and we could probably sell ours for $240,000-260,000 now.

Ooooh fun, I wanna play.  Ours is a single family home 1900 sq ft, 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath, with attached 2 car garage and a picket fence in Charlotte, NC for $150k.  I love our house and the community we’re in (mutliple pools, tennis courts, parks, walking trails, gym, golf course, etc), which was super important to me since I grew up in the bubble (Mission Viejo, CA).  Plus it’s less than 8 miles from FI’s work (I don’t work) so that was a major bonus for us.
