Mr CL’s ring is actually more expensive than mine! We appear to be spending WAY above the average too! It’s pretty thick and being custom made from 18k gold though, so that’s probably got something to do with it. It’s somewhere around £750 ($1,200 – sheesh!).

Mine was $1000, which is more than I expected to pay but Fiance wears a size 15!!! And the ring I picked for him has a design all around, so I knew I would pay a pretty penny to get it in a size 15. I still shopped around but it was the less expensive I could find.
Here is the ring:

DH picked a pricier ring. It is white gold with onyx and diamonds and was around $900. It was a schock at first, but it’s really quite unique and he’s happy, so I didn’t mind spending more.

Wow! I surprised to see how mpeople agree are willing to spend on men’s bands! My husband’s was $24.99 because it is tungsten and I got a great deal on it! Even jewelers only sell me for $99-$200 so all I had to do was go online to my good friend amazon.com and find the best deal 🙂 There was no need to spend anymore than that and tungsten will last forever! Score!

@bunnyharriet: Sorry about the massive pic! I don’t know how to make it smaller. Anyway this is my boyfriend’s ring. My ring isn’t made yet so we aren’t engaged yet.My SO got this ring from his grandmother. It belonged to her late husband. I’m not sure how old it is.
The ring was free since it was given to us. You should add that as an option to your poll.

He’s old school so he wanted a simple yellow gold band. I opted for 10K gold because it’s more durable and he’s super hard on things. It still cost almost $500.

@hersheykiss2087: I see a bit of a double standard here. Why doesn’t anyone blink an eye when a man spends several thousands of dollar on a woman’s engagement ring and yet we shouldn’t spend money on something he will wear for a very long time. Trust me, I’m as frugal as they make’em but in the end I went with something I knew he would really love, the same way he bought me a ring he knew I would cherish.

we both want plain yellow gold wedding rings, no diamonds or anything, mine would be upwards of $500, his would be upwards of $600. so much for the average being $225!

was around $400 years ago but now priced for about 699
