Ours will cost $510 for the whole day – 2 photographers. We get a CD of edited photos, plus a CD with ALL photos unedited (I want to edit some myself). She’s a talented young lady who just graduated from photography – and since she’s also the girlfriend of my FI’s best friend, she gave us an excellent discount.

She did our engagement pictres for free, and they turned out so well we knew we had to hire her 🙂

We are paying $1800 for 10 hours of coverage with one photographer. Our package also includes a disk with all of our retouched images and the rights to reprint all of them, a 10×10 32 page hardcover book of photos that he puts together, $100 credit towards enlargements and prints, and 30 days of viewing in an online gallery where friends and family can buy.

I got a steal!  Our photographer isn’t new photography, but she is new to the area and new to being a “solo” photographer (before she moved here she had a business with two other photographers).  Her portfolio is BANGING!!  I’ll be honest though, a photographer wasn’t on the top of our list of things to allocate most of our funds to.

I talked our photographer down to $700 because I paid her in full, at the time I signed our contract (originally $1k).  We are getting:

  • one photographer (with a back up shooter to take pictures of the smaller details, like our wedding cake, table settings, etc.)
  • 8 hours of coverage (she charges $75/hr after, which isn’t terrible)
  • Free engagement session
  • All images edited and on a disk with full copyrights
  • Online, password protected gallery
  • 10, 8×10 photographs
  • Plus, a discount on any other prints or albums we may want

Now that I booked…

After taxes, it’s about $2700.  The package is for 8 hours but we’re expanding it to 10 (unlimited pics), all editing, 1 photograher and an assistant, e-pics, print rights for both, online gallery, and having our e-session out of state (we want to have ours done in New York).

We might add an album down the road.
