I didnt want to spend more than $1,200 on a dress, but after trying on over 70 dresses and I finally felt that it was “the one” I didn’t even hesitate to spend more. It was perfect and so worth it!

I spent $1,400 on the dress + $300 on the belt

$2 (that’s right $2!) on shoes. I got them at the thrift store and they are soooo cute!

I am wearing my mother’s veil and just adding a fake flower to the side so it was roughly $.25 for the fake flower from the thrift store.

I will be wearing a necklace from a old-fashioned jewelry store that will cost me no more than $5.

I made my own bouquet (also bought these flowers from thrift stores) so it ended up costing my about $6

I have yet to buy a garter or undergarments & I will be having alterations in about a month. ( a family friend will be doing them so hopefully she wont screw us out of our money)

As you can tell I’m a very “thrifty” person and if you’re willing to scavange the shops and do a little cleaning, you can find almost anything you’re looking for!

Do you have a picture of any of you attire?? I’d love to see Smile

So far I’m at:

$2100 for dress

$300ish for alterations (not done yet obviously)

$150ish for a veil – haven’t bought yet, but found a few options

$75 for jewelry/accessories (earrings and hair pin)

$100ish for a faux fur shrug – don’t have one yet

I’m undecided on shoes. I’ve purchased a few pairs and keep changing my mind!

@housebee:  Your dress is gorgeous!!  I love the shoes too!

So far I’ve only purchased the dress.  It’s Bill Levkoff style 334 and it cost me $235 after taxes.  The dress is supposed to come in early May.  Still need shoes, which I’m budgeting $50.  I’ll be wearing earrings (faux pearls – $12) and a flower in my hair.  So, I am hoping to spend less than $350 on all of my attire.

Dress:  $3100 with tax and alterations; oh and a discount

Shoes: $250

Spanx: $60

Bracelet: $150

Earrings: $75

Hair comb: $200

Veil: $150 + $50 bad expense on a birdcage veil that didnt work and was not returnable

The only budget we had was on the dress which was 3k everything else was pretty open to an extent.  I tried really hard not to spend 250 but I kept coming back to them.  I knew I just couldnt go out and buy Louboutins and fine jewelry.

ETA:  I forgot to include my bridal coat which was about $250 after alterations and embellishments

Dress – $699
Shoes – $30 with DIY supplies (but possibly changing those to a different pair for $50)
Jewelry – $30
Veil – $12 (less than, but whatever)
Underwear – I can’t decide between two pair, so ~$15 for both

So, ~$786 total, unless I buy the other shoes, then $806. No alterations needed, no bra needed, I made the veil myself.

I’m in the Uk so it’s in £

Dress- £160 (previous season Sue Wong in the sale!)

Shoes- £45 (fabulous Irregular Choice heels again in the sale reduced from £95)

Jewellery- £5 (some very sparkly glass costume jewellery and some borrowed from a friend)

Side Tiara- £16 (second hand)

Total: £226

It seems I like a bargain! I didn’t purposfully buy these items because they were more affordable- but because I liked them. I had originally bought a dress for £550 but it ended up not working out (another story), and the tiara I was going to buy full price new, but then found the exact same one on ebay!

We’re on a budget but we had allocated more than that for my outfit. I still need to buy underwear but I don’t think I’ll be buying 300 quids worth!

I’ll come in at just under $4k for everything, including alterations. It would have been $1100 less, but I had dress regret so I lost $1100 deposit/rush fees on first dress:(
