I use to love water and honestly drink about 8 glasses a day. Since I got pregnant… water is gross. I hate that because I know I need it for the baby. I have to make myself drink it down. Last night I put a little cranberry juice in my water and drank it all down… maybe thats the new trick. Anyone else have problems getting the appropriate amounts of water?

Water and fluid have been a complete challenge for me. Water makes me gag and jce is too sweet. I have found chocolate milk, lemonade and milkshake tolerable. Otherwise I get fluid from jello, popcicles, and watermelon.

i didn’t change my water comsumption when i got pregnant because i was never dehydrated before and i pretty much drink water or juice when i am thirsty. And i eat alot of fruits and vegetable, so i am not at all concerned that i am getting enough water. Though i rarely drink 8 pure glasses of water, i think i get the equivalent. only thing i have to watch is not to have too much soda in place of water when i am thirsty.

The first trimester I had trouble with water. I definitely had trouble trying to drink as much of it as is recommended. I found spiking it with a little lemon juice or something flavored like that helped a ton.
Now that I’m in my third trimester I have no problem drinking the recommended amount. I’m thirsty all the time. Every time I wake up to pee or because I’m uncomfortable I guzzle from the Nalgene bottle beside my bed because I’m so dehydrated it almost hurts. I probably drink 4 glasses of water from the time I go to bed to the time I wake up. Of course I’m also peeing like all.the.time, but what can you do?
ETA: I’m also eating a ton of watermelon, which is like 90-something% water.

I am the opposite of OP. I am SO THIRSTY all the time. I probably drink 70oz+ of water before I even leave work and then I switch to bubbly water at home (I heart the soda stream) and am constantyl craving fruit that is juicy. It’s so weird how different women react to this!

i am sooo thirsty all the time and have been from the beginning, i love water though, and prob drink at least 130 oz a day. i rarely drink other liquids though, not a big juice fan (although I love lemonaide and have been craving orange juice since being PG) so water is pretty much the only thing i drink.

Oh my gosh I’m only about 4.5 weeks but I can’t get enough water. I must be drinking 100 oz+ per day, I’ve been going through 3-4 nalgene bottles worth of water each day this whole week. I’ve never been this thirsty before in my life. I got to work this morning and rushed into the building just to fill up my water bottle b/c the drive to work was too long not to drink. AH.

I am a huge water drinker. But I’ve found that I can’t drink it now unless it’s really cold and icy – so it has to be ice water. I also like to drink the Poland Spring carbonated flavored water, but for some reason cannot stand the lime flavor right now!

I answered about 6. I am loving it right now, probably because I did not drink it as much before… I don’t know. I want milk too…I also second the lemonade.
I am having a hard time enjoying anything else at the moment. Soda and juice is just not sitting well.

I was drinking a pretty decent amount of fluids when I first got pregnant…then at 23 weeks I was diagnosed with hydronephrosis and I was drinking at least a gallon a day…usually more.
Adding some lemon or lime was good to “spice things up” a bit!

I drink at least 80 oz of water a day. Your cranberry juice trick is what I use. I do a quarter of some sort of juice just to give it some flavor, and the rest water. It definitely helps me to drink a lot more.

I drink a lot of water normally. In the first tri water by itself disgusted me so I downed a TON of crystal light. Now normal water is tasting good again and I drink at least 80 ounces per day. Normally it’s closer to 100.
