I ate and drank A LOT on our honeymoon, but I was also swimming all day and walking a lot too, so I only gained a few pounds.  I found that I ate a lot more at the beginning than at the end for some reason – like the initial pig-out satiated me. 😉

I wouldn’t fixate on what you eat – obviously, don’t go crazy, but you should still enjoy your honeymoon.  The key will be keeping active and drinking lots of water.

Oh man…putting it to the internets…I gained 6 pounds on the honeymoon.  It was as if I hadn’t eaten for months… 😛 So bad.

I don’t think I gained or lost weight on the honeymoon. But our honeymoon was the 4 days after the wedding and we stayed in a cabin in Asheville. In other words we didn’t take a big trip where we ate out a lot, I cooked most of our meals.

There’s NO WAY you could have convinced me to weigh myself after my honeymoon. Yeesh! Regardless, my dress was extremely fitted, and there’s no way I could have squeezed back into it after the food-fest that was my honeymoon.

We went to Europe for 3 weeks.  Germany, Holland, Italy… so much pizze.

I can’t imagine how fat I’d be if we hadn’t been on our feet walking everywhere all day everday.  As it was I gained somewhere around 5lbs.

We are very active (yoga, running, etc) even on vacations. After the honeymoon, though, we both gained 5-10lbs from drinking a lot of sugary drinks and eating too much food at the all inclusive.

If you’re a bit conservative with the food (order the lobster, skip the steak, have some amazing local fruit instead of the cake, omlettes instead of french toast etc…) you’ll minimize the weight gain, and still have a great food experience.

2 weeks after you get back should be enough to shave a few pounds off if you gain them.  Sign up for a bootcamp class starting the day you get back, do chicken/fish steamed veggies for the 2 weeks, you’ll be back in the dress no problem.

Yeah I definitely gained somewhere around 10 lbs. I went on a cruise and it’s free food in your face 24/7. Food is my weakness so I was eating constantly! I mean I loved it and it was some of the best food EVER but none of my clothes were fitting right when I walked off that ship lol. I’m sure it didn’t help we were drinking all hours of the day either… LOL

Man I am almost worried that after eating so low cal low fat for so long that the honeymoon will make me sick. Anyone experience that?

I didn’t gain anything on the honeymoon, and I didn’t deprive myself of anything I wanted. We went out to dinner and drank frozen cocktails most nights, and drank a bottle of champagne in the room almost every night. But we did eat lunch and breakfast in the room everyday, so I had cereal for breakfast and a sandwich for lunch.

ETA: I also wasn’t doing any type of special diet before the wedding, other than overall trying to snack less and eat more fruits, veggies and water, which I have overall stuck with after the wedding, though over the past 4 months post wedding I gained 5 lbs back from just being less stressed I believe.

@Utopia4us: My body did feel a little overwhelmed by the richness, and sheer volume of what I was eating.  I wouldn’t say I was “sick” but I was running to the bathroom 4 or 5 times a day lol!
