@swisea01:  I didn’t really set out to lose a ton of weight but I did want to tone & tighten my arms & midsection.

I ended up loosing about 10lbs by a combination of making healthy food choices and being too busy with wedding planning to eat… clearly its more about EATING than working out because I found I had very little time to work out but I still managed to lose weight!

Don’t worry… I gained 5 of it right back via our all inclusive honeymoon! haha

So far I have lost 18 pounds. I want to lose more but I am in a rut right now. Stress has knocked my healthy eating habits way out of whack. :/ I was originally shooting for a loss of 45 pounds, but now that we’re only six months out and I just ordered my dress, I’m adjusting that to 30. I think it’s more realistic and that gives me about five months to lose the other 12 pounds which is very reasonable.

I lost the 18 using myfitnesspal. I just track what I eat and try to make health-conscious food choices. I throw a bit of exercise in there, too, but I don’t work out regularly. MFP is an awesome app and plenty of Bees use it so it’s nice to have familiar faces (usernames? haha) on my friends list.

Lost 40, gained back 10…. 4 weeks to lose it again. I think I can! I think I can!

I followed the Dukan diet to lose the weight initially. Slacked a bit since the holidays. And now I’m back to eating healthy and exercising more.

@swisea01:  I gained 5 pounds. I wasn’t overweight and didn’t want to lose weight but I didn’t necessarily want to gain it either. I think stress caused me to overeat and make unhealthy choices.

I’m not married yet obviously, but I thought I’d chime in. I’m not really looking to lose weight for the wedding, but I am looking to be fit and toned. I’m pretty happy with the way I look, even if I am not a skinny mini, but man, I look even hotter toned! I’m doing resistance band training, along with 30DS (which I have had great results with before).

I’m down about 8lbs right now, hoping to hit 10-15lbs total before the wedding but I’m leaving it up to where my body feels comfortable. I tracked my calories for a little bit using my fitness pal to see how much I was eating in general and then modified my diet. After tracking I cut out most of my soda and processed convenience foods. I don’t like to restrict anything too strictly since it makes me crazy and prone to binges so I let myself have at least one lunch and one dinner of anything I want per week. At least for me, if I’ve been eating clean for most of the week I find that I don’t go too crazy on my splurge days since it just doesn’t feel good anymore to eat too much junk. I also don’t eat artificial sugars anymore (primarily for health reasons since I can’t tolerate them now) but I feel like processed “light’ foods aren’t really that good for you and I never had much success losing on them even when I could handle them.

If you’re planning to lose weight I think the best thing to do is make a plan that’s realistic for you. I know I can’t maintain certain diets and that at a certain point my body is going to stop losing once it gets to the size it wants to be so I’m flexible with my goal weight. My main goal is to clean up my eating and exercise more regularly – the wedding was just the motivation to finally be honest with myself about what I needed to change.

Can you add another option to the poll: whoops, I accidentally gained weight?! Because that’s what happened to me. Nevermind, the dress still fit beautifully and I looked great 🙂

So far I’ve lost 20lbs.  i can’t tell much of a difference, skinnier face…but overall I gain and lose evenly and i’m short and stocky so I never look tiny or anything.  Still up at 190lbs…but feels a lot better.

I had lost 52lbs about a year and a half ago, not solely for the wedding but that was a big part of it. Gained 10 back, so now I’m working on loosing that 10 and another 10 to get to my ultimate goal weight.

I’m 5’4″ and id like to weigh 120-125, although I’ve never been that low in my whole life.

I did it with a combination of a very strict diet and some excercise. Right now I still have 15lbs to go to get to my ultimate goal, but I’d be happy with just 10 more before my wedding.

So far I’ve lost 8 pounds and hope to lose 12-15 more. I’ve been working out 4-5 times a week doing spin, boot camp and barre classes. I have also been eating much cleaner, I’ve cut out all grains, dairy, legumes and processed foods and am eating more organic fruits/veggies and meats. I also track my calories using My Fitness Pal, but use this more as a guide, I don’t limit myself to exactly 1200 calories a day.
