I’ve lost about 20lbs and I’m hoping to lose about 20 more by mid-August or whenever the last possible moment is to alter my dress! I’ve toned up a ton too due to weight-lifting so I think I’m down more fat but the scale isn’t showing it because muscle weighs more!

22 pounds in the last 16 weeks. In a perfect world I want to lose 40 more before the wedding (not until January). I lost 50 7 years ago over the course of a year (then put it all back on in the past 7 years), so I know I can do it.
Its not just for the wedding its for me but the wedding is a huge motivator.

About 10lbs since January. I wanted another 5, but I am now 5 weeks out and need to finish alterations so don’t think it’s gonna happen!

katiaitalia Believe me I needed to lose the weight. I made a decision before I got engaged to my fiancee that I was going to lose the weight to have a normal BMI (or as close to it as I could get). Fiance and I both decided that God only gave us one body and we were each going to take care of it. I had a lot to lose (as is obvious by my 65 lb weight loss) I still have a little ways to go but the best thing to do to people who are trying is to be encouraging of them.
WAY TO GO girls!

WOW! You looked amazing in both shots, but 30 lbs is incredibly awesome! How did you do it? I am trying to lose about 30 lbs before my big day in October but I am having trouble sticking to my guns. I have the weight to lose (believe me) but I don’t want to crash diet or go to crazy. Any advice?

2lb so far… hey gotta start somewhere! I’m aiming for 10 total.

I didn’t lose any… But I was in grad school until 6 weeks before the wedding – So I was just happy to maintain (I tend to eat junk food/snack food when I’m rushing, stressed, etc…)…
I gained several pounds on our honeymoon cruise and was starting to work out (got a gym membership) to try to lose those pounds… But then I got sick/got an injury (I’m not sure which category my condition would fall into) about 10 weeks ago and am unable (and not allowed) to work out. Talk about disappointing! I’m gaining serious weight – All I do is sit on a couch… all day, every day. Boring – and very easy to gain weight!
So, you ladies are my motivation for when I get better! I am 20-25 pounds over my wedding weight… I’d like to lose 25-30 pounds and then to maintain there 🙂
ETA: When DH and I started dating, I had lost about 30 pounds. A few months later, I gained about 5 pounds back and then maintained. So, I’m very happy about the size I was when we got married. I’m right around the heaviest I’ve been… Again. Since I’ve lost it once, I guess I can lose it again! 🙂

I lost 25 over the past year. I saw birthday photos and knew I didn’t want to look like that for any wedding photos. We got engaged 4 months ago and I had lost most of the 25 pounds at that point. Ive gained a couple back just from not exercising like I should. My goal is to lose those 2 again plus 5 more. Plenty of time to do it this summer and maintain after – even beyond the wedding 🙂
Congrats to everyone on your weight losses thus far and good luck with all of your planned weight loss!!

About five years ago I looked in the mirror one day and realized I was way overweight. So I got healthy and started working out and lost nearly 40lbs. So for the last couple years I’ve been a pretty steady weight, but recently I fell off the workout wagon and put on about 15 again. I joined a gym last month and most of it has come off, some has turned to muscle.
I’m actually happy where I am and don’t necessarily want to lose more, but I need to tone up yet- I have the genetic batwing arms that I do not want hanging out in my dress.

Nothing yet. The feminist in me doesn’t want to try to lose weight but the vain part of me wants to look extra pretty in the wedding pictures, so the compromise I’ll probably do is start working out more but not change my diet, since I’m unhealthily sedentary and working out gives me a high, but my diet is already healthy and hunger pangs make me unhappy.
However my body changes between now and then (even if not at all or I end up gaining weight for whatever reason,) it’ll be fine, it’ll still be the perfect wedding for us and a very meaningful moment in our lives.
