Depending on a persons weight distribution, it’s usually somewhere around 15lbs I would think.

It took me about 18lbs because I am more on the hour glass/pear side. I think for someone who holds more weight in their stomach, it might take less weightloss to see a dress size change, but I could be wrong.

@BM-is-a-TERRIBLE-acronym:  I think it depends on your frame and build. A dress size is also different than pants/shirt size. Since it is over all body I think it depends. On a form fitting dress I would say 10lbs on a flowy dress Id say 15-20lbs. It all depends on where you shed weight first.

When I first started dress shopping, a size 10 wedding dress would fit like a glove on me. A few months later, when I ordered my dress, I ended up losing 20 lbs. My measurements were actually for a size 6 at that time, but my bridal consultant and I agreed on ordering a size up because of my bust. I guess I don’t lose the girls when I lose weight…not going to complain though!

So to sum it up, losing 20 lbs changed my dress size (bridal) from a size 10 to a size 6. In my case, I had to order a size 8 due to my bust measurement, but each bride is different of course. I still want to tone up but do not want to lose any more weight. I lost an additional 5 lbs since I ordered my dress, so I’m already satisfied with my current weight. There’s a high chance I’ll need to get my dress taken in since when I last tried on a size 8, it was already loose on me but it fit perfectly around the chest area.

@BM-is-a-TERRIBLE-acronym:  I think it depends on how big you are too. Im a biig girl, so I won’t see a dress size change until probably 20 pounds or more. My bestie who is half my size and 60% of my weight loses 10 and she drops a size :/
