I only gained 2 pounds until week 18, which is when I started to put on a little more weight. If you have MS, try to ignore that tendancy to reach for the bagel and have some protein instead (string cheese was what I ate when I felt a little quesy). Protein actually settles your stomach better, and won’t have you packing on the pounds like most gals who have morning sickness who start reaching for the sugary cereals and the macaroni and cheese. Keep your diet healthy and keep exercising and you will gain healthy baby weight, and not put it on in areas that pregnancy does not effect (like your butt- the last time I checked, the baby doesn’t grow on your butt, but your butt will grow if you sit on it and don’t exercise for 9 months! Anyone who says pregnancy causes your butt to grow is not exercising). Your breasts will probably get bigger though, so be prepared for that.
Since you started out so tiny, I bet you stay pretty tiny, and at 3 months I would be surprised if you could see much. People still can’t believe I’m pregnant and I’m almost 20 weeks (I started out at as a size 4-6).

I am 21 weeks pregnant right now, the most weight I gained was between week 12 and week 16. I gained 13 pounds for some reason and every other week I gained a pound or less a week so far. The first 12 weeks I think I only gained 4 pounds. But felt alot bigger than 4lbs due to the belly bloating!

I’m only about a month into my pregnancy and I have gained 3lbs! I’m a pretty small person to begin with (I normally average around 99-101) and now I’m 104. I dont’ know how much this will fluctuate in the next couple of months!

I lost 2 lbs in the first trimester, with no morning sickness and starting from a healthy weight beforehand. I didn’t really change my eating habits, other than the fact that I couldn’t get enough of having frozen pizza for lunch everyday, but I still lost a couple of pounds. I say this all the time but if you can stomach it, drink lots and lots of water – it helps keep the bloat down and prevents overeating.
Of course just be prepared for the weight to come on at all different rates/times without any change to your eating habits. I went through a growth spurt in weeks 14 – 24 and packed on 18 lbs, then I stopped gaining for 6 weeks and have now put on another 4 pounds in the past few days. Ugh! Moral of the story – despite our best efforts, our bodies are going to do what they need to do!

I gained 4 lbs in my first trimester. I am pretty sure you will still be able to fit into your dress. I was relatively small and in good shape and I stayed in my pre-pregnancy jeans until about 20 weeks. Everyone is different, but I think you should be okay! You might gain some weight in your boobs though, be prepared! My boobs grew early!

I lost 10 lbs the first trimester. I had pretty bad morning sickness…couldn’t hold down much of anything besides peanut butter sandwiches and oatmeal.

My WEIGHT stayed the same, my BODY changed–I got a little extra padding at the hips and stomach, and I went up 2 full cup sizes in the first trimester.
I’m sorry–that’s probably not what you wanted to hear, but everyone’s body reacts differently to pregnancy. It may very well be that your body won’t change at all. But if it does, take solace in the fact that seamstresses can work miracles.
And whatever you do, don’t diet. That’s my Public Service Announcement for the day 🙂
Congratulations, x 2 !!

I lost 9 pounds my first tri and haven’t gained anything at 23 weeks.
I’ve gone up a cup size though; I second a pp’s suggestion of converting your dress to a corset back if you can or if you’re that worried about it.

About 5 lbs. I looked very bloated by 9 weeks.

I was up 12 pounds. But never fear, for after first trimester when I got back to my normal routine, things levelled off. Now I’m at 38 weeks and only up 25 pounds total.

I am about a week away from finishing my first trimester and so far I lost 2 then gained 2 pounds, so I guess that is a net of zero! And I’ve totally been eating like a pig. As if I didn’t have a big appetite before, I feel it is out of control now. I still exercise a lot, so I think that helps keep things balanced
