My BMs are wearing black dresses that they already owned. Most of the dresses I’ve worn as a Bridesmaid or Best Man have been between $130 and $175.

$300 and I feel pretty bad about it.  I wanted them all in the same dress and took them shopping and they collectively agreed on the dress.  But, I still feel like it was too much.

I think $140 is very reasonable!

Well i was quoted £200  ($300)  each to have them made for me!  but as i can sew,  i have bought the fabrics….(and its better fabric than they were going to use)  and all together they will cost me…….£60  ($100)  per dress!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It really didnt matter to the bridesmaids anyway,  as i live in UK, its actually traditional for us to pay to dress the bridal part,  and i am fine with that,  but i wasnt going to pay £800  for dresses that i knew i could make….

    £800   vs  £240……….its a no brainer.

my girls never said anything about price but i felt bad knowing my bridesmaids are single mothers, in college, or have part time jobs. they all have bills to pay too. plus i also knew they would need alteration, shoes, and all the extras would quickly add up. i found davids bridal outlet and found perfect black satin floor length dresses with amazing beading for $60.00!!! my girls ranged froma size 2 to a size 26 and they all looked amazing in the dress!!!

my original plan was to let the girls pick their own dress, just as long as it was a chocolate brown color, but they all picked the same dress anyway, and the dress is about $220, that includes tax and any alterations.

    J. Crew…their bridesmaid dresses retail for $250, but you can always find some on sale for as low as $50 online.  I got mine for $30 at a sample sale.

I once had to buy a $360 bridesmaid gown. Despite measurements, it needed about $60 in alterations.  Ridiculous!  We didn’t know to push back.  It was 2001 and our first friend was getting married after college.

I’m a Bridesmaid or Best Man in my brother’s upcoming wedding and my dress was $139.00 at Davids, which I thought was very reasonable (bonus: it’s ADORABLE!). My BMs dresses that I selected when I got married were pricey-$180.00, but everyone was one board with them.

Mine range from $124-$137.  They picked their own dresses, so they could control the prices.

Mine were $120.  We all discussed a budget of $150 and I agreed to pay the difference if I was the one responsible for falling in love with a more expensive dress.

I spent $160 for two of Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses. Which is $80 for each one. I got them online from http://www.weddingdressesukshops.com.  I think it reasonable price for its good quality and perfect size. We very satisfied with its free custom made, it made the dress suit my fingure well.

I only have a Maid/Matron of Honor and I think her dress was around $280. I gave her total control though; my only stipulations were that it had to be pink or grey. I think she went a little overboard but she looks BEAUTIFUL in it!

Don’t feel bad, $140 is reasonable for a Bridesmaid or Best Man dress.  I’ve been in 5 weddings and I’ve never paid less than $225 for a dress (before alterations!).

The Jenny Yoo dress I chose for my BM’s was a floor-length silk chiffon for $320, after a 10% discount.  I put $100 towards each dress to bring the price down to $220 for them.  One of the BM’s needed extra length because of her height, so I paid the additional $30 because I didn’t think it was fair that she pay.
