The only alterations I needed were a bustle – it was $119.

35 for bustle, 60 to take in the sides, probably 5 for boob cups, so 100$.

You might check whether there are independent seamstresses in your area who can do the alterations.  The cost tends to be more reasonable than bridal salons, plus you know exactly who is doing the alterations and can check out reviews of that person.

shop quoted me 395$ , I changed to a sweetheart, added 3 point bussle, steamed, 2 fittings, took out back panel behind corsette, and put cups in… for 42$ at a local seamstress.

I highly reccoment not using the shops. That is where they make all their money.

$150 to take the dress in.  No hemming needed.

I love my little seamstress.  🙂

Mine will be around $400 for a massive hem (ball gown with lots of layers under the skirt) and letting it out a teensy bit in the ribs because that’s my wide spot….which is annoying.

$500 total

$300 for my massive bussle and $200 for my hem and sweetheart neck alteration. It’s not all complete though so I hope the price doesn’t go up any more…

I don’t understand why dresses don’t come the right length!! After all, it’s custom ordered, you should think they could make it any length I want.

I guess I’m kind of lucky, the shop where I got my dress caps off alterations at $180. She doing the hem, bustle & taking in at the top.

omg i got owned on that one! $220 to take in the sides at the top to make the bust area smaller, $75 for french bustle, $35 to raise the underskirt 2 inches so I don’t step on it, and $65 to take in the one side of the dress (hip area) to make it more fitted. ouch.
