- Wedding: August 2012
We’re having a very simple wedding in a park by the beach. We’ll have the ceremony under a tree and have food tables set up in a buffet style nearby. It will be a vegetarian picnic (we and at least half the guests are vegetarian and we are not willing to have meat), with a veggie hotdog station, a bunch of different ‘gourmet’ salads and a table of cookies and cakes. The ceremony is like to start around 3 pm, and the picnicking around 4. It’s in August in LA, so the sun won’t set until around 8 and late dinners are pretty normal so I expect some guests will leave around sundown to have a proper sit down meal (guests will know ahead of time that a full meal won’t be served).
What I can’t quite determine is how much people will eat! A cups worth of each of the 4 or 5 salads, 2 hotdogs, a cookie and a piece of cake?
Have any of you done anything similar? Or fed your guests before ‘meal time’? How much did they eat?
