The budget. It’s probably the biggest decision you make in a wedding (other than choosing your groom!) since it largely impacts how many people you’ll invite, what kind of cake you’ll have (one or six tiers!?), and so on.
And then as if you don’t spend enough money, OH YEAH—you might wanna take a honeymoon!
From day one the honeymoon was VERY important to Fiance since we haven’t travelled much being long distance, so we knew no matter what we were going to make it happen. We are paying for the honeymoon ourselves.
SO bees, what are you budgeting for your honeymoon…and share where you’re going!
We want to keep it under 4500, for an all inclusive resort trip in Cabo San Lucas!

My husband couldn’t get much time off from work, so our ‘honeymoon’ consisted of driving cross-country in my very small car loaded down with all my stuff. It was actually still fun (roadtrip!), but I would never want to do it again.
Recently, we decided to do a real honeymoon- we traveled the Oregon coast, ate fantastic seafood, and spent so much time on the beaches exploring. We loved it so much. I think it cost about $1100 total.

We haven’t really decided on a budget, but we know we want to keep it on the low side. We’re all about a good deal, so we’ve been keeping our eyes open and thinking we may do something last minute which is cheap. We’ve decided on a location finally though, Maya Riviera Mexico.

Our honeymoon budget was 3000. While our dream honeymoon is Bora Bora/Moorea, we have only been working and out of college for one year, so we’ll be keeping it not too extravagant.
In fact, I think 2k of the honeymoon budget will be re-routed to the wedding. We’re getting round-trip flights and a few free nights in hotels for free from our credit card rewards. So ultimately, only 1k is the goal!!
Edit: destination is Puerto Rico!

We still haven’t taken one 🙁 but we planned out our honeymoon trip and it will be around $5k. It’s a lot for a vacation, but we’re okay with waiting a little longer to do something really special!
We’re planning to go to Couples in Jamaica

We’re planning everything way in advance, so that we can pay out of pocket slowly instead of one lump sum and having to take out a loan for our “dream” honeymoon. We are keeping it at about $5K, but like I said, paying slow. We’re going to Sandals St. Lucia (La Toc) I hope we have nice weather 🙂

We aren’t sure at this point, but we will probably splurge and spend around $10K. We figure it’s a once in a lifetime thing, and it will also be our first time staying a hotel together. And we have been good (some would say obsessive) about being financially responsible these past few years, so we can afford it.

We are having a Destination Wedding in Thailand (2 weeks), then a honeymoon in Cambodia & Vietnam (3 weeks). All up for the 2 of us it will come to around $10K for the 5 weeks, however that does include our private beach front villa with a pool in Thailand and all flights & breakkies!

@Miss TNK: Thailand and Cambodia are beautiful! Thailand is on my short list of places to live at some point in my life. 🙂 If you’re up for it, visit the Killing Fields in Cambodia, NOT ROMANTIC, but important (couldn’t think of a better word)
We’re planning on doing a honeymoon registry so the cost will be whatever is not snapped up by guests. We are planning to go back to the Philippines where we met and visit our friends there. Probably smaller celebrations with them…With some alone time on islands that neither of us have explored…yet. The total cost is expected to be around 6K including airfare.

We paid under $3k for our 8 day/7night honeymoon at an all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana, DR (including flights). We booked it and paid for it fully about 5 months before the wedding so we wouldn’t have to worry about that cost later 🙂

@Mrs. Fireworks: WOW! That’s an amazing deal. Where did you stay?
We spent a lot, but not a lot considering where we went and what we did. We went to Bali, Indonesia and had our housing paid for two weeks as a wedding present. We scuba dived many days. We ate out and had a great time but it still cost about $5K. most of it was plane tickets.

By the time we’re finished with our wedding we’ll be so lucky to do a honeymoon. >_<
We are getting a cabin from a friend for free to stay in for as long as we want.
We’ll probably stay there for 5 days.
All we’ll be spending is money to eat out every night, which it can get expensive so we’ll be spending under $500 for our honeymoon.

We’re spending about $2000 plus 240k us airways miles, 120k Hilton points, 80k Marriott points and 2 Intercontinental “buy one night, get one free” certificates for 6 nights in Tokyo, 4 nights in Hong Kong, and first class airfare. No way could we do this without our points and miles! The $2k does not include meals.
