Photography: $3100 (9 hours, 2 photogs, engagement session, all edited photos with printing rights)

Cake: $575

DJ: $950 (7 hours, technically it’s unlimited though!)

Photobooth: $850 (4 hours, all photos for every person, scrapbook)

+$1000 for my hotel/flight to Vegas and my boudoir photos.  But I didn’t include that as it isn’t part of the wedding day.

Honeymoon: not planned yet!  But also not part of the wedding day so I consider that to be a separate budget.

@anemily:  It will be at this small (newish) event space on NE 28th (cross NE Glisan). Its not really on the map of known places yet but I know the owner of the building and he’s a really good person.

Many of the other places I’ve inquired about were way too large for the amount of people we’re going to have.

  • Wedding: September 2013 - The Gables at Chadds Ford

Location:  Near Philadelphia, PA

Venue:  $1,000  (ceremony and reception space rental)

Food:  $10,000      (includes open bar, seated dinner, cocktail hour and appetizers- hoping we can actually spend less than this!)

Flowers:  $1,500    (20 wedding party members/parents, 16 small centerpieces, no ceremony decorations)

Dress:  $499 (David’s Bridal!  and I LOVE it!)

Jewelry: gifted $500 towards accessories (this was a gift from SIL– not actually spent yet though)

Veil:  gifted by my SIL (valued at $150 though)

DJ:  $1,300 (Cutting Edge Entertainment)

Photographer:  $2,100  (Nicole Leigh Photography- 8hr package)

Officiant: $200 (estimated- a friend of a friend is doing our ceremony)

Transportation: $577 (School bus rental for 10 hours)

Guests: 80-90

Favors:  $300 (made 100 mini homemade bottles of wine)

Other Misc. Costs:   Stationary for DIY invitations/save-the-dates,/programs, gifts for the wedding party, hair/makeup, hotel stay for two nights, our rings, groom’s tux…

Overall Total should be about $20,000 (not including the honeymoon, and I estimated high on some of the misc. things- so hopefully we will be under budget!  So much for a $10,000 wedding!!!)

**Honeymoon:   $2,500 (this is what we are estimating to spend for a week in Paris.  My fiance’s parents footed the bill for the flight and hotel as our wedding gift)

  • Wedding: August 2012

So we had a slightly different type of wedding.  We got married while on a road trip!  We drove from Utah to Canada and did a 2500 mile weddingmoon.  We were married on day 5 of the trip at Canada’s #2 lodge in a national park.  All of the wedding stuff was packed in a box among the sleeping bags, suitcases and tent.  The lodge had an elopement package that we used.  We planned it all in about 15 days – even though we were engaged for 15 months.  Our two witnesses joined us for dinner.

WEDDIND RELATED: under $3300

Photography: $1250, 3 hours

My attire: $701 for everything I wore: hair flower, shoes, bra, slip, jewelry, dress (I did my own hair and MU)

H’s attire: $227 for H’s suit, shirt, tie

H’s Ring: $350 for H’s wedding band, which was originally $700 but I had an old ring to trade in.  I wear only one ring so no wedding band for me.

Officiant/License: $206

Details: $550 for everything else wedding related – 3 course wedding dinner for four, champagne, bouquet, boutonniere, wedding (too large for 4 people) cake, engraved toasting flutes, day of coordination

HONEYMOON RELATED: about $3700

Lodging: $1852, 3 nights at the fancy lodge, 3 nights camping, and 4 nights in a regular hotel

Gas: $424 for 2500 miles, Utah to Canada and back

Food: $801 for all meals not included in the elopement package (which were 2 breakfasts and the wedding dinner).  We ate out every morning and night.  Lunch was usually on the trail as we were hiking every single day.

All in all, the whole weddingmoon cost $7050.
