For a diamond 1.1 ct cushion…. anywhere from 2.5k-4k for the stone + another 1500 for the setting?  So 4-5k?

Yeah, that could literally be worth hundreds of different prices depending on the stone. Besides, most people will just look at it and go “ooh, pretty ring!” not try to put a dollar amount on!

it could range from <$100 to $10,000 depending on the stones. cz vs diamond

do you know the specs on the diamond?  you only gave us an approx size.  is it a real diamond?

I’d guess maybe 5k if it’s a decent diamond in platinum.

If they are diamonds with VVS2 clarity, then maybe $4-5k. If they are of lesser quality, then maybe $2-3k. They may not be diamonds though so idk.

I wouldn’t necessarily assume anything because I know how many good simulants/diamond alternatives there are out there. (I’m a big moissanite fan!!)

If you told me it were a 1.1 ct center diamond and platinum though, I’d assume it was over $5,000. A 1.1 ct diamond is easily around or over $4k loose unless you have an in or work with a broker.

Honestly, when I see someone’s ring, it just doesn’t occur to me to wonder how much it cost unless it’s just a massively huge ring (we’re talking like 3+ carats). Also, what it cost isn’t necessarily what it’s “worth” in terms of appraisal (usually high) or what you can sell it for (usually much much lower if you bought new).
