I wouldn’t venture a guess without further specs on the center stone.

I’ve seen low quality 1ct diamonds selling in the $2K range and brilliantly cut, amazing 1ct diamonds selling for far more than $10K or even $20K.

It all depends on the type quality of the stone. . .even the lab that graded the stone can influence it’s value.

Gemstones can be like cars. . .you can’t really guess their value without knowing the stats.

Two cars may have the same body style, but one may cost $25K and another closer to $40K.  It all depends on what’s under the hood and what additional options you choose.

I saw a similar platinum setting at my local jeweler with a moissy center stone and two diamond side stones–I think the re-sale was $2k because it was a trade in since the guy’s fiancee got upset that he bought her moissy.

I also agree with @KristenGotMarried: “It looks as priceless as your fiance’s love for you.”

@Rrabbetsgirl:  Wow. That sounds really high.. not sure if it’s the chain store (mall chain store here also sell lower quality for higher prices than can be found online) or Canada for the reason its so much more.  I sort of go on the assumtion of at least as good as an online deal at a place such as jamesallen or bluenile and a lot of times independant jewelers have even better deals.

@pinkshoes:  Thats pretty standard, duty, profit and taxes drive up prices, but it does depend on quaity of the stone and where you buy it for sure!

Judging from the picture and setting in platinum, I would guess it’s about $3,000 or less.  The setting itself might cost about $1,500?  Base on your picture (I know it’s not a good one to see if it’s a diamond or not), I doubt it’s a diamond.

@Rrabbetsgirl:  I agree that a lot of the estimates have been low for a high quality diamond – it all depends on the specs of the diamond. I have a 1.5 carat cushion cut diamond, with .35 diamonds in the platinum band (totaling around 1.85 carats all in all) and I know my fiancee paid around 13k from a wholesaler who was a family friend and gave him a very good deal. The specs of my ring (colour, cut, clarity) are very good though.

I must look at too many ring pics on here, because I knew it was moissy 😛
