I don’t think you’re going about this the right way. Pricing your items is a science that isn’t just made up of “what people are willing to pay”.

Have you figured out how much it costs in materials to make your items? Have you calculated how much of your time it takes to make them? Have you calculated the Etsy and paypal fees?

Your formula should include the material cost & fees + your time + profit = Etsy price

Those are good prices to me! I don’t have a baby so I don’t really know the going rate for these items, but they sound very reasonable.

@MarryMeTiffany:  Ok good. I just see many Etsy sellers underpricing themselves and not “paying” themselves for their work. It is an extremely common mistake.

I’m a seller myself and it takes some time to get pricing just right.

And I think your prices listed above are reasonable but I think they could be higher. You aren’t leaving much room for your time and profit.

Also – this isn’t really the right venue for this type of question. I don’t think anyone buying your products will admit that the prices are too low! Everyone loves a good bargain. Try the forums over at Etsy. There are tons of helpful sellers there to help you get your prices right.

I think it sounds fair. You have to remember that you are offering a custom-made service, so your prices honestly should be higher than a bib set from Target or Wal-Mart. Good luck with this endeavor!

I think that the blanket prices seem low (unless they are just really simply). I’m imagining some sort of detail to them or quilting of some sort?

I think the bibs could go a bit more too. Maybe 2 for 17? People know that they are paying a premium over walmart to get something unique and special!

I just paid $100 for a baby quilt on Etsy, so those prices sound really good to me.

I agree, reasonable. Even my cheap a$$ will pay that for handmade items. 🙂
