- Wedding: September 2011
I need someone to baby our 2 little ones (19 mon, and 3) during the wedding so everyone can have a good time (including them) But we have never had to pay someone to sit. Fiance is only comfortable with VERY close friends and immediate family normally.
For as much as we and our parents are putting into the wedding, we have all agreed it would be good to have someone in charge or keeping them occupied. We want them involved, dancing, and everything, but we all know kids that small cant be self sufficent, and can be unpredicatble.
A friend’s 18 yr old daughter is VERY good with kids (she has young siblings; newborn, 5 yr old, and 10 yr old who she sits) and has a good handle on “stubborn” little ones including my daughter. I was wondering you would offer to pay for a 20 minute drive to the wedding, and help from 3pm-9pm??
Also she and her parents live 3 doors down from my Future In-Laws, so Future Mother-In-Law said we should see if she would have a “sleep over” so we can go straight to the hotel, and they can stay for the whole thing then clean up. I havent asked her yet, but with my kids, you put them to bed and they are out til morning (only reason Future Mother-In-Law probably mentioned it) What would you offer to pay, and do you think that is not appropriate to ask?
I honestly dont know. I am not a new mom, but we have NEVER had anyone watch them completely over night except grandmas. A few people have put them to bed really easily, but only because we were late or on a date. Never with us miles away, and not returning quickly.
Any suggestions? Price?
