How tall are they? They look kinda smallish in the pictures

honestly, not much.  I bought most of my vases from the dollar store for $1 each, so maybe that’s just my bias, but these don’t like like anything so special that I would pay more than $3 or so for the glasswear.  Maybe others would disagree with me.  I’m not saying they aren’t nice, they just don’t look super expensive (which, having paid $1 each per vase myself, I think is totally fine!)

@allyfally:  http://www.dollartree.com/party-supplies/wedding-bridal/574c576c576/floral/vases-bowls-containers/559c543c543/index.cat

I ordered the Jardin glass vases 7″, glass hurricane stem vases 6 1/2″, clear glass tapered bud vases 8 3/4″, and a couple that are no longer on the website.  I had them shipped for free to a dollar store in our city.  Are they uh-maze-ing vases?  Not really.  But they’re glass and totally fine and we are doing like 5 vases per table, so needed like 75 vases.

Can I ask how much you did pay for your vases?  Again, I didn’t mean to say they’re not nice, they do look nice, I just wouldn’t pay a lot of money for them (like I maybe would for mercury glass vases that I might use again, ya know?)  Yours are quite a bit taller than the ones I was in the market for though.

@allyfally:  We have crappy dollar stores around here too. Or everyone buys them as soon as their put out. Either way I’ve never seen them either.
Still, I probably wouldn’t pay more than a few buck though. If you hang around the clasifed board long enough you’ll find tons of these. I’m also assuming that the top vase is clear and something in the water is making it purple?

@MiraJo:  right?!  they’re not heirloom-quality or anything, but they’re pretty nice, and if you don’t like them when you pick them up you can get a refund.

(sorry, didn’t mean to threadjack)

I bought all of our vases, candle holders, and some glass filled pillar candles from the dollar store online. Had everything shipped to the store and I’m very happy! Mostly cause I throw everything away so I won’t hesitate to throw these in the trash after we are done.

@Beezysbreezy:  or you could give them away/donate them to a thrift shop/do something other than just throwing away perfectly good items someone could use…

That’s really wasteful, and glass takes hundreds (possibly thousands) of years to bio-degrade.

@Beezysbreezy:  I’m sure someone else would love to have them. At least leave them beside the bin so if someone else wants them, they can take them.
