@KatyElle: See that’s the issue – I know these look like just your average grey pumps, but I can’t find ones i like ANYWHERE!!! I’ve tried about 100 pairs and I never find ones that I like. Nine West has some truly heinous summer shoes for sale here in Australia, not a simple shoe to be found. While i recognise these shoes are totally run of the mill, there is something about these that just works on my feet.
But, I’m definitely not competely sold on them. All arguments are considered. The most expensive pair of shoes i currently own are about $220, so this would be a massive step that I’m not sure I’m ready for….

@Mrs Grape: yeah, i hear you. But crazy over the top/embellished is not what I’m looking for…so my dilema is, do i splash out on a simple pair of shoes that will hopefully be uber comfy (on a lady that doesn’t usually wear heels) and last a long time and be of a higher quality, or do i just get a cheap pair that i’m not that sold on, and wear them just the once?

I only spent like $50, but I had a small budget. Those shoes look like they can be worn with practically anything, so I’d be willing to spend more on something like that!
If it were like some crystal, sparkly, or crazy colored shoe..I’d try to get them for cheaper, becuase perosnally I know I wouldn’t wear them again.

IMO and IME, with designer shoes you don’t just pay for the label. All my designer shoes are classic styles that haven’t dated (and one pair is 10 years old now!). They are also all super comfy; I can wear even 5 inch stilletos for hours on end, if I attempted that in cheaper shoes I’d end up with sore feet and blisters within probably 2 hours.
If you like them, and can’t find a cheaper alternative, and they are comfy and fit well, then personally, I would get them. I cannot stand uncomfortable shoes, so for the comfort factor alone I would happily pay a premium, esp for your wedding where you’ll be on your feet a fair bit and it’s a long day.

Crazy over the top special doesn’t even have to mean embellished. It can be something simple that you just don’t see every day. But if they work for you, splurge!

It looks like one of those things that is perfect for your dress and I say go for it! You can wear those long after the wedding.
