He makes $74,000, I make $30,000.

We live off of his salary now and bank mine. I have no debt. My car is paid off in full. All I have is auto insurance, which is $550 every 6 months. He has a $400 car payment and right now our rent is cheap. We can live very comfortably off of his salary alone. I take home about $550 a week. Daycare for a newborn is $350 per week on average here. I’m not working as a social worker for $200 a week, I’ll tell you that right now. 🙂 It’s all about living within your means. For us, we will never have a mortgage over $1000. Either we save for a larger house now, or buy a home that can fit our needs. Nothing more.

This is why I love Oklahoma. The cost of living is great 🙂

A little under our combined wage would be good, because as it is, we’re going to have to pay for childcare, which will be over half my wage anyway.  So 18,000 Euros max per year would be more than enough.

@PixelMePretty:  wow where in Oregon do you live???? Im west of Portland and you couldnt rent a 1 bedroom for that price! Right now our income is roughly $4800 (after taxes)a month, my husband being the bread winner, we could survive on that but we would be strapped! I’ll be a working women but thats okay with me
