@LoveNYC123:  yes, I noticed the bowtie in every photo, but I wanted an elongated cushion so I tried on many rings with bowties and learned to detect them pretty well. It took several weeks but I did eventually find a colorless stone without one. Our local jeweler had to go up to NY to find it. So if you shop around you may be able to find one. Your ring is very pretty though and if you keep it I think you might be the only one that will notice the bowtie.

It looks like the setting behind the stone to me. I think it’s lovely!

i agree with what some of the other bees have said in terms of the depth. mine is pretty shallow and sort of the the perfect tear drop so i don’t think there’s a bow tie on mine. either way…love the pear. i think it’s an excellent option. my fiance looked through 30 pear stones to pick my perfect one. the attached photo was outside on a sunny day. pears differ so much. if you are concerned compare a few agagainst one another if you have the opportunity to get exactly what’s perfect for you. good luck and keep us posted. i love pear stories.

Unless you have a very large budget you’re more than likely going to see a bowtie. Color doesn’t have much to do with the clarity of the stone.

The ring you posted is colorless (that’s awesome!) and looks beautiful! It’s important to maintain realistic expectations within your budget. Unless you have an unlimited budget you need to decide what are the most important (to you) aspects of a diamond. Is it the color? The clarity? The cut? The size?
