Three cats, two boxes. Scoop once a day, dump out everything and start fresh once a week.

One cat, one (obscenely large) box, and I scoop every other day.  She just doesn’t go all that much, and it doesn’t usually stink (no special litter, just Sam’s Club brand).  People have actually commented (who don’t like cats) that they would never know we have a cat from the smell- as in no one ever smells cat box when they come through our house.  If anyone ever mentioned that it stinks, and we have a few close friends who would tell us, I’d up the scooping schedule.

My cat’s also not picky about her box… She’s addicted to using it, she’s never once *knock wood* peed or pooed anywhere other than her box since the day I got her.

It’s a covered pan and in the hall closet… so it’s easy to forget until it’s stinky… But once a week we dump it all out, wash the pan with javex and put fresh litter in.

We have 3 cats and they have always shared one litter with no problems.  I would clean it once a day.  Now that I’m preggo, I don’t have litter duty and Darling Husband went out and bought a huge under the bed-type storage box and they use that now.  It’s probably the size of 3 standard litter boxes.  He cleans that twice a week.

@dynamic_duo:  Hubby does them all every other day.  Luckily, I don’t really do them ever.  One of them is an autoscoop, so he just checks to make sure it is ok.

Yeah it’s gross, but if we don’t keep on top of it they won’t use it.

we have 2 cats and 2 pans. We used to have 3, but they’ve gotten bettter about just using the 2. I scoop once a day, usually, but have to be better about changing the litter. It gets all muddy.

We have one cat and one litter box, we live in a small apartment, we barely have the space for one box! Hubby scoops it every few days.

Two cats, two pans, but when we move into a house where there’s room, we’ll probably have a third. You are supposed to have one per cat plus one, and spread them out between the levels of your house. Fiance cleans them twice a day, since the little kitty is prone to UTIs and pees on the floor when things aren’t perfect (not good in an apartment!). We found out she does a lot better then the boxes aren’t right next to one another, too.

I get all grossed out when we go to a friend’s house because he has two cats and one box, in the basement, and he cleans it out like once a week. The cats go outside the box if it’s too dirty (which, IMO, it often is), but he’s okay with it because it’s on the cement floor. Yuck.

2 cats. 1 box, I scoop once a day now.  I used to go days in between scooping but my boys have gotten persnickity in their older age and if its not scooped they go outside it.  Also since moving into a new apt the box is in a more “viewable” area so I naturally have to sccop more.

We scoop every couple days. I try to do it every other day, but sometimes we forget. We have one cat and her box is in a cabinet so we dont see it (and she has privacy). I also change the whole box once a month, and use worlds best litter, which seems to keep the stink down.
