Reading these posts makes me feel bad for not cleaning mine enough! I have thought about taking it to the jeweler but our communications skills are bad (me=bad French, them=bad English) and we didn’t buy it with something that let me get it cleaned for free once in a while (again, the language barrier complicted things). I may ask about it once we move to BC (in 18 days where we can speak English!) and buy our wedding rings.

louisianablue : Is mr clean okay to use on a ring? Im sure it is i just would be a little nervous
Aure : My FH talks about the ultra sonic cleaner, he wanted to buy it but i told him we should wait, does it do a good job of cleaning your ring, i hear its super gentle
tdowens53 : I use the Connoiseur’s jewelry solution too, i alternate between that and ivory soap.

The appraiser I went to recommended Mr. Clean to me. I definitely think it is safe to use. I honestly think that it makes my ring the sparkliest when I use the Mr. Clean method. i just like alternating methods of cleaning just in case years down the road one method is discovered to be harmful, so I switch it up.

My jeweler asks us to bring it in every 6 months for a cleaning and ring check (to ensure nothing is defective). This keeps our warranty valid.
They also re-plate it every year. (White gold tends to look dull & yellow, if it goes too long without being replated)

I used to clean mine every few days when we first got engaged last year. I’ll go a week or two now without cleaning it.
I use only a mild soap and soft toothbrush. Rinse REALLY well and boom. Mega sparkly.

I clean mine about once a month (and I always clean it when I wash my hands). I will use windex and a soft toothbruch. Magic! If I REALLY want to make it sparkle I will bust out my bissel hand held steam cleaner. WOW! Gorgeous.

I clean my beauty at least once a week. Windex and an old toothbrush! Works wonders.

I clean it maybe once a week, or right before I’m going to see someone who hasn’t seen it yet!

Wow…I feel neglectful…I got my ring in April…and just had it cleaned for the first time in November!

Once a week usually. Just with hot water and liquid dish soap, and a baby tooth brush.
I also use a steamer on my rings now. It works amazing!! Be careful for those of you using ultrasonnics. They should not be used often, as they can shake your stones loose. And if you have a pave ring, you should never use an ultrasonic. They should only be steamed.

I pretty much clean mine every morning before work. I’ve only been engaged for 5 days, though, so we’ll see how long that lasts 🙂

i clean mine about once a week with a soft toothbrush and toothpaste( i have a silver ring if i dont clean it often it gets tarnished)..the toothpaste is just plain white toothpaste from the drug store…and it works wonders!

I have an emerald e-ring and it can’t be cleaned by normal methods–the stuff that people use on diamonds would wreck it. It’s been cleaned once by the jeweler since DH proposed, right before the wedding!

Glad to hear I’m not the only one that cleans their ring (almost) daily. I give it a quick clean before leaving the house most days. My ring really isn’t the most accomidating to my lifestyle with five kids, a construction company, a house with lots of upkeep…but who’s turning down a lovely ring, right? Just my daily grinde leaves my solitaire quite smudged after a day. It needs a least a wipe down daily.
