How often, and what have you all been using to clean your rings? I have been using a mixture of Mr Clean (without ammonia), Dawn, and warm water, then using a soft bristled toothbrush to clean in the grooves. Just wanted to see what everyone else has been doing to keep their sparklers clean?

I clean my ring every day because my center stone is a white sapphire and accumulates a film on it easily. I use an old toothbrush and toothpaste. I also bought a Diamond Dazzle Stik after another Bee recommended it to me and it works great, too.

Non-abraisive liquid soap and a baby toothbrush.
Clean it when the hole in the bottom looks icky… it will get a little gunk in the left/right corners. About every two months.

I probably don’t clean it as often as I should. That’s about once a month. I soak it in a dish soap and water mixture then give it a scrub with a toothbrush.

Once every couple of days, either with some gentle soap and warm water and a soft toothbrush, or just warm water and a soft toothbrush. I also have a light colored center stone that can get gunky when I put on moisturizer etc.

Diamonds attract oil so I clean mine every night. I just pop them in the ultra sonic cleaner filled with Hagerty jewel clean and they always sparkle like crazy.

Hagerty Jewel Clean about once a week, and then use the little brush. I just throw it in there while I shower!

When I worked at a department store I had it cleaned weekly at the fine jewelry counter since my friend worked there. Now I clean it myself every other week to once a month.

@TheFutureMrsN: I clean mine every few months with baking soda/water and a soft tooth brush.

@TheFutureMrsN: I’m bad. I only do it once every 6 months, and only because I have to for insurance purposes. White gold is a lot of maintenance, so I also get a rodium dip at the same time. I never take my ring off, so it can look a bit grungy by the time the 6 month cleaning/rodium dip comes around. I don’t pay much attention to it, but I do notice how much better it looks after it comes back to me 🙂

Thanks all! Ihave been cleaning mine every few days, since I have a halo cushion where the underside of the stone is almost completely covered, and gets lotion/soap film in it easily and takes away from the sparkle of my diamond. I just wanted to make sure I wasnt cleaning mine TOO much as to hurt the diamonds or the white gold setting. I have made sure not to use anything with ammonia as I have heard that can wear down the white gold over time.
What do you guys think about Ultrasonic cleaners? I have been debating investing in a less-expensive one. Anyone have any reccommendations?

I’ve had mine for 5 months and only cleaned it once. I took it in to the jeweler where FI bought it. They offer free cleanings. I’ll have to google the Hagerty jewel clean.

I pretty much only clean it when I do or go somewhere special. Lol.
