Hardly ever in nearly 18 years. I can recall only two, serious arguments over very significant issues. One being his refusal to go back to the surgeon and go on the waiting list to have his gall bladder out!
We occasionally have the sort of “Well if you insist on leaving your shoes on the floor the puppy will chew them” sort of very slightly exasperated discussions but we avoid, at all costs the sort of shouting, screaming argument that results in hurtful words being exchanged in the heat of the moment. Neither do we do not speaking to each other. We both find that the sort of unhelpful mindgame that is never worth playing. I was once married to a sulker and quite honestly, it was like having another child in the house. Neither do we do the silly game where one of us is bothered by something but refuses to say what until hours of pointless “What’s the matter?” sort of interrogation has been completed!
