I have a friend who has an art deco blue saphire halo around a diamond but that’s probably the closest.

My engagement ring is a Montana bicolor sapphire from mociun and I have zero regrets about not getting a diamond (although it does have trillion cut diamonds on the side). No one in our circle has a colored stone so people are always very excited to see it because it’s something different

I went to a wedding where the bride had this gorgeous pear emerald ring, it was simply stunning. You do you, it will look beautiful no matter what.

alessia :  My original set is an iolite gemstone and I love it.  It’s so gorgeous in sunglight.

I would say about one in four of people my age or younger.  Mostly sapphires.  A couple garnets.  That’s only people i pay attn to – i usually don’t pay close attn.  Less for those older than me,  but many of them only wear a plain gold band so if they even had an engagement ring I don’t know what it is.

One of my best friends has a trillion aquamarine engagement ring and my fiance’s best friend’s wife has a blue topaz I believe.

Most of my girlfriends have a halo ring, so Im actually considered more traditional with my thin pave band. I’ve actually only seen one colored stone (aquamarine I think) in real life as an engagement ring. I wish I would see some of these beauties on the Bee in real life!

The ones I’ve seen on this site are gorgeous, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen one in real life either!

I have one IRL friend with a morganite but that’s it. I do have a lot of people in my life who only wear a wedding band or choose to wear no ring at all.

I have an amethyst. Actually a lot of my friends have gemstones or consider them when ring browsing. But out and about I’ve yet to see another colored stone

I know two women with sapphires in halo settings. I looove their rings, but they probably only represent about 10% of my friends. I think most people I know actually have halos.
