alessia :  Never! It’s pretty much all diamonds in halos, with a pave band, set in white gold.

Every day — on my own hand! Otherwise, pretty much nobody. I have an aquamarine center stone with diamond halo, and love it. But I get comments all the time that nobody has seen non-diamond engagement rings other than mine.

All the time here in the U.K.  It is the norm amongst women over 50 still on their first marriage.

I think it was the early 90s when diamond only rings gained traction and they are more common among women around 40 and under. You still see plenty of coloured stones, particularly sapphires, being used, almost always alongside diamonds too, either in halos or three stone rings.

My engagement from my first marriage was an oval sapphire in a diamond halo  it was lovely

Not very often, other than on myself. I have a black diamond, and I have one friend with an emerald and one with a blue sapphire.

I’m based in Italy. I know one girl who owns a ruby with diamond accents, and another rocking an emerald. However diamonds are by far the most popular gemstones, although they are usually much smaller than in the US.

The only girl I know who has a colored stone is my Future Sister-In-Law. I believe she has that ring now because at the time my brother didn’t have that big of a budget.

But in honesty, unless a ring w/ a colored stone is next to a wedding band, I’m just going to think it’s a regular ring.

I have a blue diamond! But that is the only colored stone ring that I have seen. Brittany_Rob-Details-0048

alessia :  Every week – my cousin’s ring is pink and green diamonds.

She had it custom made because her favourite colour is pink and her FI’s favourite colour is green 🙂

I am also UK based, but I will admit that other than hers I haven’t really seen any but I don’t know many who are engaged 🙁

One of my coworkers has a gorgeous natural sapphire as hers.

TBH I dont know many other married people, but the ones I do know have diamonds. Though, one of my friends has an heirloom orangey/brown diamond. So, its still a diamond, but its more unsual than a white diamond.

This is my engagement ring! My husband is a first generation American whose mother is from the U.K. and insists that all of the best e-rings have colored stones and all of the best weddings happen in Autumn.

I’ve never been abroad myself unless pre 9/11 Canada counts, haha! I have a passport but it’s never been stamped.

I live in the California Bay Area, I work with the general public, and I love rings! I have only seen four colored gemstone e-rings besides my own:

A pink sapphire marquise in an elaborate Indian-style band that’s as thick as the stone is long (my guess is 10-12 MM) on a college student in the assessment center.

College student with a small Princess Diana/Kate Middleton style sapphire with diamond halo in student affairs.

High school friend from the PNW got married with a huge honking asscher cut garnet solitaire on a thick modern band. She’s a January birthday girl.

An emerald cut emerald with diamond side stones on a fabulously dressed older woman in the Houston airport.
