@Dreambee:  I take my rings off all the time and mainly only wear them out.

@emerald_halo:  Depending on the material your rings are made out of, the chemicals in soaps and things can wear down and degrade white gold…which is why I don’t wear mine when washing my hands/doing dishes/showering. If I did, I’d ruin my gold and have to get them replated. And who honestly wants all that lotion gunk or dirt inside their setting and all over the cracks and crevices of their ring? Ew.

Mine is on 99% of the time.  I only take it off to shower and apply lotion.  I don’t worry about damaging it because the shank is plain, and it is insured anyway.  I can’t imagine not wearing it, I love to see it sparkling all day.

I take it off to clean it or if I want to look at it more closely (lol). I also took it off when I was making sugar cookies, because I was getting the dough all over my hands. Other than that I leave it on 24/7 (including sleeping and showering). My setting is pretty sturdy so I’m not too concerned. Also, I wear mutliple RHRs that I put on after I shower in the morning and take off at night before bed, so I felt like I needed to wear my e-ring even more because it’s special lol.

Some of you guys are so good! I hardly, ever, ever take it off. Leave it on in the shower, when I sleep, in the gym. The only time I take it off is if I’m cooking something messy (or raw meat), or if I remember when I put face lotion on.

almost never

I only take it off when I’m lotioning up or travelling.

I heard too many too many stories of people losing them on vacation or one client misplaced hers in her makeup bag.

I take it off every night to sleep, when I do field work for my job, cleaning with harsh chemicals, do some serious cooking, and when I’m putting on lotion.

It really varies. Some days my ring just feels ‘uncomfortable’ for some reason, so I take it off as soon as I get home. I never wear it for washing the dishes or cleaning, mostly because we couldn’t insure it for what it’s worth and I couldn’t bear to have to replace it, (both emotionally and financially!). I want to be one of those ladies who wears it all the time, all day every day, but it’s just impractical.

The only time I take mine off are when I’m showering or if i’m making something that’s going to be really messy.

I wear my ring almost all the time.  The only time I take it off is if I’m doing something messy with my hands, putting on lotion, or washing my hands with bar soap (I don’t want the soap scraping onto the ring).  The stone (about half a carat) sits pretty flush against the band, though, so I don’t really worry about it catching on things or scratching anything.  Honestly, if I took it off more often, I’d probably lose it very quickly.

Due to the nature of my job, I do not wear my actual engagement and wedding rings (soldered together). Instead, I wear a cheapo ring that stands in their place. I only wear my real ring on weekends and special occasions, which makes me kind of sad, because I love my rings!

I take mine off when I shower, wash my hands, apply lotion, or cook something particulary messy.

@icanhearyousmile:  I am aware of what chemicals etc can do – just saying that you gals in the US seem much more concerned/careful about it than we are 🙂

Wow I’m surprised. It sounds like nobody ever wears their ring. I’m a nurse so it’s a dirty job which means I wear gloves and wash my hands all the time. I always have my ering on and plan on always wearing my wedding ring after we get married.
