It didn’t take too long for me to get used to wearing my ring, maybe a week or so.  I don’t wear my engagement ring to work (I’m a nurse), when using clean agents, when showering, and whenever I think I might damage it.  I probably wear it about 95% of the day.  My wedding ring I wear to work since it’s a flat, plain band, but I take off for all the other things I listed.

I have always worn rings, so it wasn’t weird having my e-ring.  I always take my rings off when I shower (worried that they’ll slip off my wet fingers) but other than that I always wear them πŸ™‚

I don’t wear my ring to work, so I’m in a constant state of feeling like I’m forgetting something when it’s off, and feeling kind of weird when it’s on.

Never take it off unless I’m putting on lotion. Too afraid I’ll lose it/too lazy to take it off

I’m exactly the same. I barely ever wear jewellery, so I’m not too keen on the idea of a piece of jewellery I have to wear 24/7. I got used to my engagement ring after a few weeks (still can’t wear it sleeping, showering, cooking or cleaning, though). I would pretty much just wear it when I was leaving the house (if I remembered), or when friends/family were coming to visit. My husband didn’t seem to mind too much, though he would comment on it from time to time.

I think it may take longer for me to get used to wearing my wedding and engagement ring together, though, so I usually just wear one at a time. Luckily, I can sleep with the wedding ring on, so I’m less likely to forget to put it on in the mornings πŸ™‚

I am an Encore Bride (actually a Newlywed now)

I got engaged last April.  And after years of not wearing a Ring on my Wedding Ring Finger, it did take me a bit of time (couple of weeks) to get back into the swing, and get past the “this is unusual” sort of feeling I had in the beginning.

So yes, for awhile I didn’t wear it round the clock.  Most often like yourself choosing to put it on when we went out in the Evening etc.

But it was just a matter of getting used to it.

(I was married the first time for over 20 years, so wore my ERing for over 25 years… and I wore it 24/7 virtually NEVER taking it off)

I knew I wanted to do that this time as well… so I chose my Rings this time round accordingly.

Altho they have more “glitter” than my first set, they are constructed as to be very wearable / durable (Low Setting for my Feature Diamond, and channel setting for all the others)

Now that I am married, I never take them off…

Sleep, Shower, Work with them on.

On the otherhand, I have second WBand… a plain one (matches my sparkly WBand, just doesn’t have any diamonds in it)

I wear the plain band alone when I want to protect my Diamonds… so if I am doing Home Renovations – Painting – Gardening – Deep Cleaning – Kneading Dough – Going to the Gym – Water Sports – or Travelling to a 3rd World Country

I like having 3 Rings.  Means I have a lot of options… can wear them 1, 2, or 3 in different combos (mix & match) or stacked.

I don’t worry about cleaning my rings a lot… I wear them in the shower and wash my hands often.  I clean them with Gentle Jewellery Cleaner about once a month, and get them professionally cleaned every 3 or 4 months at my Jewellers.  They look like new, and sparkle like all get out.

Hope this helps,

I’m not a jewlery person (or a make up person for that matter) so at first I felt a bit overwhelmed having a sparkly piece of jewelry and felt like everyone was staring at me, but it means so much to me and I look at it all the time and remember his love for me while I’m at work πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ As soon as I get home though it comes straight off.

I wear it 24/7, when I sleep, when I shower, when I wash dishes, I always wear it. It did take me a couple of weeks to get used to having a ring on my finger, and I did used to take it off to shower, then just when I was washing my hair, then just when I was doing washing or gardening, now I always wear it. Although it could be because my fingers are bigger than they were when I first got it, so it is really hard to take off.

I found it uncomfortable to wear for about the first week.

Now it’s weird when I’m awake and it’s not on my finger.

Fingers get used to rings, just give it a chance. (However, if it’s actually scraping or pinching or anything, you should get the ring fixed. Your ring should not cause you pain.) The discomfort I’m talking about is more like… “there’s something on my finger and there usually isn’t. My finger feels weird, I wanna take it off…” that one is totally temporary πŸ™‚

@MrsYoshida:  I felt like that too at first in public and then it went away when I realized nobody is paying attention to it, just like I never paid attention to engagement rings before. I love to wear it in private though, because I love to stare at it and play with the lightshow it makes and there’s nobody to think I look vain. Sometimes my Fiance sees me doing that, but it just makes him happy and proud he got me something I love πŸ™‚

I’ve always loved jewelry, and wear 4 other rings on my right hand, so I had no problem getting used to wearing my ring. but as soon as I’m at home after being out the jewelry comes off! I keep my jewelry in a jewelry box that Fiance gave me for one of our dating anniversarys, and I don’t sleep with jewelry on or shower/bath, do dishes, or anything dirty/grubby such as cleaning with it on Smile

I take it off to shower and to chop raw meat and that’s it. I even sleep in it!

i take it off to wash the dishes, when i’m showering, and when i’m cleaning the house. If i don’t have it on i feel like i’m missing somethin. it took me ages to get used to it though, it is however a bit to big (coz even though i hinted to my Fiance and told him my size loads he got the wrong size) i’m getting it melted down and reset the same.

I take mine off to shower, sleep, cook, and when I go to the gym. I also don’t put it on immediately upon waking, I’ll put it on right before I leave the house, after I’m dressed for work.
