I’ll be 24 in a little less than a month & my FI’s already 24.  One thing I’ve noticed about people who say things (at least to me anyways) is that they are never “happily married”.  It is always the older divorced person, the single for life party animal, or the I’m not happy in my marriage person.  Everyone I know who is “happily married” has been happy for us and has nothing but nice things to say and given us tips on a happy marriage.  I always laugh inside when strangers make comments because I know they know nothing about me or my Fiance and are just projecting their own feelings onto me.  I always respond with “I know I’m so lucky to have found my life long partner at my age, we’re so excited we get to spend so much of our lifetime together!”  Then anything they try to combat it with, I just say “oh that must be/have been so hard for you”.  It was annoying at first but now I have fun with it, lol.

The hard one for me is when my Future Mother-In-Law constantly keeps saying she’s too young to be a Mother-In-Law, it was kind of funny at first but now I keep wanting to snap back with “well I know great grandmothers younger than you” but I hold my tounge.

I definitely understand this, I’m 24, will be 25 when I get married but my Fiance is 32 he’ll be 33 when we’re married.. I’ve had people give me strange looks cause I look like I’m 19-20. It get’s even worse when they ask about my living situations because we own our house. we’ve been living together for over a year now. I think its funny cause I feel like I’ve accomplished a lot for being so young yet older people look down on me maybe because I am young and I do have the same things that they have…  I don’t let it get to me though.

  • 27 this year
  • haven’t lived with my fiance yet – hopefully this year.
  • When someone asks you how old you are, ask them right back.  I don’t know why older people feel its acceptable to ask younger people thier age.  Does my age really matter in the grand scheme of things?

I am 23 and my fiance is 23, we are having a long engagment because I have one year of school left and then I graduate. After that I will start planning a wedding. We will be married when we are 26. I have a baby face and look like I’m 16, people who I do not know will compliment my ring and say I am young. But not the people that know me. They ask why I am waiting so long. My fiance and I have been together for 5 years and known each other for 14 years.

One the Big Day I was 25 and Darling Husband was 21.. we got engaged when he was 19… and other than his mother (which we had alot of issues with throughout) no one asked us or said anything like that at all…. Both of us are pretty involved in our Church so I guess most people who knew I/he was engaged were people that had atleast seen us around.

I guess it could get annoying but generally I had more issues with people thinking they were invited b/c we’d had a class together 3 years ago together.  lol

I’m a waiting bee, but soon to be engaged. My guy and I are both 20. I’m lucky because my mom won’t judge – she had 2 sisters who married at 18, and are still very much in love with their husbands 30+ years later!

someone asked me that the other day, and I thought it was funny because I am 27! When I told them my age I don’t think they believed me. I will say, 5 years does make a big difference though because I was flattered they thought I looked so young. Before I turned 25, I would have been really upset. Anyhow, it would definitely be less rude if people wouldn’t ask questions like this!

I´m 25, he´s 26… we´ve been together for a little more than 9 years… we wanted to marry last year, but it was like too much in a rush (not because we weren´t ready, lol, but because I wanted the wedding to be on december, and there was little time left).. then we decided it would be this year, but then we decided to buy a big car, and so postponed the wedding a bit more.. and now (and for sure) it´s going to be on april 2012 (It was going to be on december 2012 at first, but I kinda liked april more at the end!)

We didn´t rush because we wanted to be settled up first, but we kinda knew we would marry since like ever! (he told me he wanted to marry me some day, after dating for just one month, and I was already so totally in love with him!!)

People of the near bakery thought we were married since we were like 22 years old! Once he entered alone to the bakery and they asked him “how is your wife?” he just said “fine, thank you”, and didn´t correct them! lol…
