Is 10 too old to be a ring bearer?! My cousin is a “young” 9 but will be 10 next year for my wedding and he REALLY wants to be in it. My other option is a 4 year old son of one of the groomsmen who i BARELY know… I would rather it be my cousin…but i am not sure if 10 is TOO old?! HELP!!

No, especially if he really wants to be in it! I’m sure he’ll do a great job and will be very happy and proud 🙂

I don’t think it’s a problem. My brother is 11 and he was the ring bearer at my wedding. He was VERY excited about it.

Ours just turned 16 in October and got his driver license today. Instead of ring bearer he is the King of the Rings. My 20 yo daughter has claimed the Flower Maiden position.

@clover32512: LOL at “King of the Rings” That’s awesome.
OP, no, I don’t think 10 is too old, especially since he wants to do it, vs a potentially unpredictable child who you’re not particularly close with. If you’d rather have your cousin, go for it!

10 is perfect! (you don’t have to worry about him having a tantrum half-way down the aisle…)

10’s not too old, I think at one wedding I went to the ring bearer was 12. You should have whoever matters to you.

That is definitely not too old!!!

I don’t think that is too old. I don’t event think there should be an age limitation to that. Go for it! 😀

I think it’s a great age. He’ll be adorable yet, but also responsible, and less prone to tantrums or flipping up the flowergirl’s skirt 🙂 Heheh.

My stepson to be is ten and I thought it was a little old but I paired him with my seven yr old niece thats holding a bouquet and then him with the pillow. I think it will be cute, not to mention he is uber excited!

I think its fine! And to top it all off – you won’t have to worry about how he’ll behave or if he’ll freak and not walk down the aisle! 🙂

If he wants to do it, I say go for it!
