Mine was 2.5 at the time. I wish she was a bit older because she didnt want to leave her mothers side but luckily her mother was one of the bridesmaids so that worked out well

Technically I don’t have a flower girl yet, because I plan on asking my little cousin this weekend at our family Christmas party. But she’ll be 9 by the time we get married. It’s a little old, but she’s my favorite kid ever. Her birthday is the day after mine, so she’s exactly 18 years younger than me. Basically ever since she developed a personality I’ve thought she was super awesome.

Long story short…I don’t care that she’ll be a little old (although I was a flower girl when I was 9)…I absolutely want her there if she wants the job!

I had two. One was almost 3 the other was 5. They were too cute together (only met two time before the wedding).

@freshflowers:  Your “less than 3” option didn’t work – it went into the title instead..

That’s my vote – my flower girl was like 14 months old and my ring bearer was 3. She got a little shocked with all the people in the church (had been just fine in practice when nobody was in the pews!) and just kind of stood there – needed some prompting to go, but she was adorable…

My younger sister, who is only 7, told me she doesn’t want to be a flower girl at my wedding because she’s too old to be one….

How does kids know this type of stuff?! I don’t even know… lol

Mine will be 3.5 and a few days shy of 1 on the day of our wedding. The 1 year old may or may not actually participate, because, well, she’ll be 1 year old lol. Luckily their mother is one of my bridesmaids as well, so she can help the girls along if they need it.

We’ll be having two flower girls and two kids carrying the “Here comes the bride” sign.  I have a niece and nephew and my Fiance has a very close family friend (like a big sister to him) with two kids almost the exact same ages as my sister’s kids.  By the time I get married, the flower girls will be 6 and the sign holders will be 3.  This works out perfectly because the older girls can keep their younger siblings in line and make sure they get down the aisle.  At age 3 my niece was the flower girl at the wedding of a close family friend, and she loved it!  Walked down the aisle and stood up with the bridesmaids for the whole ceremony – we were very impressed!
